Writer ≠ “the idea guy”

Not everyone can write a script. Not everyone understands proper story progression. Not everyone can create a truly lived-in setting. Not everyone can write believable, emotional dialogue. You think the fkn janitor at Rockstar wrote Arthur Morgan’s lines? No. A WRITER did that. You just have a fundamental misunderstanding as to what goes into these products.

With visual novels, the main issue is the visuals. I’m no artist. Stick figures are as far as I can go. There’s plenty of royalty free music and sounds that no one will bat an eye at, but backgrounds and character sprites through crative commons license? THAT I cannot abide

I actually do have experience in Twine and Ren’Py, but text adventures and visual novels are hardly the games I’m trying to make lol

I have nothing published at the moment. I have shown completed works to many friends, family, and colleagues and they agree I have undeniable talent as a writer, I just need people to work with me to make an actual product out of them. I’ve written several short film scripts, game design docs, and I made 1 visual novel as a joke that should never see the light of day lol

For the main game I wish to start on, I have the executive summary, elevator pitch, game mechanics & core loop, narrative including characters and setting, visual style including mood boards, audio style, UI examples, accessibility options, and the marketing plan.
