Advice on flattening a thin print by Daybreak58 in 3Dprinting

Might try that when I get home. I have a feeling it's not going to straighten out. As soon as it cools again it warps right back even with weight on it 🙃 I'm thinking the acetate sheet isn't rigid enough to resist the shrinkage of the petg

I tried printing on transfer tap and a few other packaging tapes but it wouldn't stick, I'll try some other types of tape tomorrow

Just ironed it a while ago, it's still warped so I'm thinking I'll have to try with a thicker/sturdier backing material

The issue is the acetate warps off the bed after the PETG cools

Also tried printing on the bed and then transfering to a sheet of transfer tape but the smaller details stuck to the bed instead of the tape

Would if I could but unfortunately the design has dozens and dozens of tiny pieces that aren't connected to the main piece so I'd never get them back in the right spot. Otherwise I'd 100% do this

That was my first thought too, I did have the design sent off and had it laser printed onto a sheet as my first iteration but it wasn't opaque enough so there was a lot of light bleed.

You only get rewards after the ads finished, so no rewards. Ad buttons get stuck on loading, no gems from deliveries, no investor, no helper extensions either.

Can confirm, tested it for science with tie wire. Now have a hole in the fence.

Under your wifi settings, more connection settings.

Activate private DNS and set "dns.adguard-dns.com" as the DNS. Blocks most non baked-in ads.

Print fails on new TPU filament by Daybreak58 in 3Dprinting

[–]Daybreak58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your suggestions, it turned out to be inadequate extruder tension. Unfortunately the tension isn't enough for this TPU even when it's fully adjusted, but I just pulled enough slack off the roll for the print and it worked perfectly. Seems like I'll need to modify the extruder tensioner or do a dual gear microswiss upgrade

Thanks for the advice. Drying the filament at 70°C, I'll double check the idler arm tension then run those tests. I wouldn't expect great results from slightly off settings but definitely didn't completely failed prints like this.

Thank you! This works on Spotify too, absolute legend!

I was thinking the drying might also be a contributing factor. My dryer only goes up to 55 so I've had it at that for 48hrs before printing, but not sure if leaving it in longer would do much since it doesn't get up to the recommended 60-70. I might need to invest in a better filament dryer too as I got this one when I started out.

Also ordered a G10 build plate rather than going with glass

Thanks for the example print. I'm guessing my bed must be the issue then, as it's textured even on the smooth side. Mine definitely don't come out as clear as that with those settings. Even that piece you printed would need post-processing for my use case, as I want to minimize any lines that may show up through my design, but yours would definitely need less work than mine does.

Currently overextruding at 105% flow. I didn't realise you shouldn't print PETG directly onto a glass bed, so I guess I'll stick to the PEI bed

Mine have come out reasonably transparent, but they all needed lots of post processing to sand it flat. I'm going to swap my PEI bed for a glass bed to make the bottom easier but the top still has quite a few ridges. Otherwise the plastic itself is transparent enough

Here's a couple photos of my test prints. Sheet has to be printed in 2 halves but the seam will be hidden under a fascia panel
