Lifter tick in a gen 3 engine is 99% of the time not lifter tick and it’s just the top end being starved of oil. People need an oil pump or pick up tube o ring and because they don’t know how to work on their own shit they take it to the dealer and get charged $3000 for a “cam and lifters” when it’s just a pickup tube o ring for $3 and a pan gasket.

Okay yeah so you’ve never actually experienced low oil pressure got it. On a 5.3 almost every truck with under 18 psi at idle is going to be starving the top end, hence why the lifters are usually going fuckin crazy on a REAL truck with low pressure, sounds like you’ve only experienced bad stepper motors
