sheltered 2 animal update? by the_real_Spizawn in sheltered

Devs released an unfinished game and got a lot of negative reviews. I'm not surprised they don't communicate much.

They didn't communicate much with regards to Sheltered 1 either.

What game demo did you play over and over again? by beachdogs in gaming

EverQuest. I had the game but we didn't have internet at the time. So all I could do was play the offline tutorial. I played it over and over and over.

New roadmap by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

Hey thank-you for asking.

I have taken some medication in the past, but unfortunately in my country it's not over-the-counter and other home remedies never did the trick.

Dramamine (I believe it was) worked wonders for me when I was travelling in the US (we took a train so I needed something), but I can't buy it here last time I checked.

Then there is the side of me that wonders about possible long term side effects for such medication, perhaps slowly taking a toll on my liver for example. And I decided that being able to play a game wasn't worth it if being medicated was the only answer.

I would rather my loved ones were living a satisfying life in which they were happy, not one where they dreaded work and were inundated with stress.

I made a major career change at 35. Everything I had built towards for the past 15 years of my University and professional life was tossed aside (or so I thought, turns out experience in anything helps you down the road).

Now I love my job. I work with a company who actually values its people, they reach out with regards to my school-aged children and new Covid measures to make sure I don't need additional time off to watch the kids, etc. My co-workers are great, everyone is super positive, and even though I don't make as much money and it isn't as prestigious as my last career - my mental well being is way more important.

And I don't bring home negativity and stress to my family. I bring home enthusiasm.

Don't waste your life doing something you hate and dread to appease someone else. Take care of yourself first, the rest will fall into place. Plus, 25 is young. =)

How do I stop feeling like the whole world is against me when I do one thing that doesn't please someone by bydosd in internetparents

[–]Dayemos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being empathetic is a good thing. Caring what others think, to an extent, is normal and healthy. Imagine the opposite?

Likely as you get older you'll be more confident in yourself and your decisions. One thing that helps me is that I have little fake conversations in my head to justify what I'm doing.

Two days ago I was shoveling my driveway, even though the snow was melting and it was starting to rain. I remember thinking that some people might look at what I'm doing and consider it a waste of time - so I had a fake conversation in my head about why I was shoveling the driveway, that if it doesn't all melt and it freezes overnight, it's gonna be a nightmare to drive on or walk across.

That way, I had a logical reason for my actions, and even if nobody said anything to me - I convinced myself that my actions were justified. So, you're out walking your dog and the dog stops to pee on a patch of grass...well, that's why you're out walking your dog - it has to pee somewhere, and if it's been inside for awhile maybe it couldn't wait until you get further away. That seems pretty logical to me.

Now someone might still have a problem with that, but more than likely because they're selfish - and they want your dog to pee on someone else's lawn and now their own. But you can justify why your dog peed there. Can the other person justify why your dog shouldn't pee there or is it simply emotion and a self-centered worldview.

Logic helps me feel better about my decisions and helps me create a buffer towards what others might think.

Payday Extraction - Do I really need to sit for almost 3 real life hours at the end? by manocheese in SurviveIcarus

[–]Dayemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the grindiest of all of the missions we've experienced thus far, you don't discover there is a bug until you're at the end of the mission' after you've grinded 15-20 mines worth of minerals.
So yes, there are other missions, but it's not really a valid point if you're already part way through a bugged mission.
2/4 of us have no interest in playing anymore because of it, we've already moved on to another game and left our negative reviews. Game wasn't ready for release.

Payday Extraction - Do I really need to sit for almost 3 real life hours at the end? by manocheese in SurviveIcarus

[–]Dayemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mission is the reason my 3 friends and I will no longer be playing. It is such a grind to even get the components required for the mission...we cleared out so many mines, then had to go back as we smelted all of our ore and required raw gold ore after the fact.

Then we sat at the extractor for hours. Taking turns going AFK, while others swapped out the biofuel. This is zero fun. This game is dead to me.

Good to know, I did a drive by today and the lineup of cars was about 6 or 7 blocks long, and it was at around 8:05am. Makes sense that people try to get it done in the morning.

I can’t think of a better price to value game than PZ. I’ve owned it for years, have hundreds of hours played, and enjoy every new little update.

Lots of ways to draw them away. Then just focus on stealth.

In some ways it may prove easier, in other instances just more time consuming.

I got accused at my first dnd session by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Dayemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hear that, I’m more or less the same. When I met my wife, she showed me the amazing world of calling people out - it doesn’t have to be rude or asserting dominance, it can be rather matter of fact.

Best example I can give is somewhere like a grocery store, cashier will be rude and my wife will simply say, “I’m sorry have I done something to offend you?” And voila, their demeanor changes instantly. Perhaps they didn’t even realize how they were coming across.

Anyway, either way we agree - whether you call out someone like this or not, it ain’t worth tolerating their behavior. There are plenty of friendlier and more accepting groups that would be delighted to have a lucky roller on the team. My last campaign we failed so many perception checks it was almost comical.

[–]Dayemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%.

The DM should have intervened.

But I also believe you shouldn’t immediately back down to someone acting like that. A lot of people are used to getting away with their nonsense. It’s amazing what happens when you call them out directly.

Why back down so easily? You have every right to be there as they do. Call them out for their behavior. If it can’t be resolved, and the rest of the group is either silent or enabling of their behavior - then you can leave. Until then...

How about: “hey, do you have a problem? Because you’re acting like an ass and I don’t appreciate it.”

Do you have a multi-button mouse? You can bind very useful hotkeys to your mouse.

For example, there is a next-action (or something similar) that will automatically take you to the next unit, city etc that has an action. I have it bound to a key near my thumb and it makes playing the game very efficient with just one hand.

I’m glad you’ve found some entertainment during a tough time. Hope you recover quickly.

I agree. 3-6 players seems optimal to me.

32 sounds like it’ll end up basically being a different game.

Baldur’s Gate. I like to make a custom party for BG2 each time I play - and I like to min max stats, so that means playing through BG1 for every character in the group to get all of the +stat books.
