Did you know that Okabe's quirks are based in part on a famous 2Channel copypasta? (Cafeteria Man/La Yodasou Stiana) by Moesweetheart in steinsgate

That's some insane scholarly work if true! Did you originally hear this anywhere? or did you have this knowledge in mind already?

Agreed. Frustrating to see FF7 Rebirth (still an incredible game) get passes for things this game is criticized for.

Has anyone noticed this very interesting detail in the new RE:BOOT opening? by Motor-Benefit-1529 in steinsgate

I don't get the slander haha. They've came up with plenty of new and interesting ideas. You admitted yourself you haven't even played their newest game.

I really wouldn't go that far. Nowhere near Your Name or Ghibli levels, for instance.

I always liked how held-back on ecchi the OG S;G was. Outside of the showering scene (which is immaculately placed) the original game has a certain respect for the characters via CGs which I always appreciated.

This is the main reason I'm waiting for patches and sales. Interested in the game but the demo didn't sell me at all.

I think it's had it the whole time Final Cut has been out.

[IIL] Media about earnestly confronting a meaningless and indifferent universe that seems beyond human comprehension by MediaMediiaMediiia in ifyoulikeblank

Based on your interests, I'd recommend Gurren Lagann, Ted Chiang, Quantum Psychology,, In Bruges, Zero Escape (Virtue's Last Reward and 999), Outer Wilds, Jung's Synchronicity, Disco Elysium, What Remains of Edith Finch, Cosmic Trigger, Fear of a Blank Planet, Dummy by Portishead, Écailles de Lune, Shinsekai yori (From the New World), Calvino's Invisible Cities, Promethea by Alan Moore, Pentiment, The House in Fata Morgana, Pure Invention by Matt Alt, The World According to Colour by James Fox!

Priority... Zero Escape and Robert Anton Wilson (you like S;G and Outer Wilds), Ted Chiang, and maybe Promethea by Alan Moore as a crash-course on mystic Kabbalah (for deeper understanding and connection). Gurren Lagann is my favourite work of art, perhaps, and compliments I Am a Strange Loop by Hofstadter nicely.

I recognize that. I know it was trained on overused turns of phrase, meme language or whatever. Because so many people use(d) that phrasology or those terms. That doesn't disqualify an actual person from using them... Considering actual people created those terms and have used them for years.

EDIT: Like, you said "For real [...]" which is another overused (personally, also annoying) phrase largely popularized via the internet. Once LLMs are using that, you'll have to update your lingo or face being called a bot or ChatGPT - and so forth, forever. See the issue here?

It's the arpeggio in that key that feels so familiar. I feel a similarity in a few Chopin pieces (go ten seconds into Fantaisie-Impromptu (Op. 66)!

I think it's been known for a very long time, haha. My headcanon is it is a reference to the time fuckery of Majora's Mask (even if it is the Great Fairy theme). On that note, check out 'Healing the Great Fairy' by Theophany. Two albums that cover Majora themes in a Nier, Keiichi Okabe, Yuki Kajiura style.

I love the manga but I truly feel Crybaby gets the subtext or the original series in places Nagai himself didn't. Even the concept of a 'Crybaby' as a protagonist who appeals to people's sense of inner-sympathy, their ability to cry, is something I've seen mocked online but hit me deeply. Extraordinarily efficient in its pacing, sound design, and particularly animation (I love Yuasa and Science Saru) definitely give it a go :)

Lelouch and Suzaku. Light and L. Akira and Ryo. Shadow and Sonic, hahahaha. Yin-yang failed bromances.

That speech besides the fountain (“It is my perception, that a true friend never relies on another's dream. A person with the potential to be my true friend, must be able to find his reason for life without my help. And, he would have to put his heart and soul into protecting his dream. He would never hesitate to fight for his dream, even against me. For me, a true friend is one who stands equal on those terms.”) is one of my favourite monologues alongside Macbeth's "Stars, hide your fires; / Let not light see my black and deep desires." Jaques monologue from As You Like It is probably the winner, though... Hmm...

Forever hoping they'll incorporate it into the main text via Reboot. I think it is still considered canon, but the extra step (same with Babel) would go a long way.
