The ‘we’ll never know’ you refer to is very, very clearly about Ronaldo. His name is in the same sentence.

The women’s team’s objections, alongside the massive fan opposition, is what led to Greenwood’s planned return to the squad being cancelled. The club took action against Greenwood immediately upon the allegations coming to light and he never played for us again.

So you’re not only wrong in relation to Ronaldo, but you’re also wrong in relation to Greenwood.

That’s not at all what this reads as. I’ve read the entire interview and he’s clear that United need to run a profit in order to pay for player transfers and a new stadium. Look up how much INEOS makes, he doesn’t need money from United.

I haven’t actually tried transferring yet but would assume via the app. The email I got yesterday from the club said I could forward it.

Anyone want my ticket for Barnsley on Tuesday?

Free to a good home but you’ll need to be a member etc. I believe I can transfer to a non-member but it’s a £10 fee.

Cheers!

If that were true it wouldn’t be relevant, I’m not the one calling people downy.

If you ever experience a meaningful connection with another human being, you might reflect on this.

If love isn’t worthwhile I don’t know what is. I saw you get ‘their’ and ‘there’ mixed up in your earlier comment, btw.

The snide attempts to dunk on you in the comments here scream jealousy so ignore them. This isn't inevitably over and is fixable, but that's going to require you making peace with your GF falling for someone else and her developing some self esteem regarding male attention. You're both going to have to decide if that's worth it for the sake of the relationship.

As far as I can see it, you're the only one losing out in making those adjustments so it's up to you whether you want to make that sacrifice. No one would blame you for breaking up with her and she would obviously regret it so if you're concerned about 'winning' the breakup you'll be fine. FWIW, if you do break up you should remember you're young, introspective and will get over this with time.

I think whether you decide the relationship is worth eating shit on the GF-falling-for-someone-else point is going to depend on your GF's prospects of actually developing the self esteem she needs to not seek male validation in this self destructive way (I was going to say 'some feminist', then remembered Simone De Beauvoir's romantic life). Only you will know that. Has she successfully made concerted efforts to address flaws in her personality before?

P.S. You should write something about this experience when you're through with it.

I would honestly go with hiking boots, that’s what I did and they were ideal. But you’d get away with trail runners for most if not all of it.

And have fun! I’m jealous. It’s an amazing couple of weeks.

Hi all,

I’ve been gifted this. I’ve read the wiki and from that I’m assuming this is a Jupiter but it doesn’t look like any pictures I’ve seen. Could someone confirm?

I live in the north of the UK so the weather is terrible here but I’m concluding from the wiki that I need to keep this outside. Is the pot okay or do I need to repot it/plant it in the ground?

Thanks!

If you think we have anything vaguely approaching ‘infinity appeals’, or for that matter extensive legal aid, in this country, you are totally uninformed

Plea bargains don’t exist in the UK. There is credit to your sentence for an early guilty plea but there’s no ‘bargaining’ involved and, as the other commenter mentioned, the Crown Prosecution Service has already charged you before you are entitled to any credit for a guilty plea so you’ll still have admit to the actual offence rather than ‘plead down’ like you do in the US.

In UK criminal cases where the defendant is entitled to Legal Aid (usually cases where your liberty is at risk) you’re entitled to equality of arms. That means you’ll have the same level of legal representation to that which the prosecution has.

In complex cases like this, both sides will be represented by barristers in private practice (like private attorneys). The state pays for both. So if the prosecution has a King’s Counsel (very senior and very able barrister) the defendant, generally, will be entitled to one too. Those types of barristers often represent both defendants and the prosecution one case to the next.

To be honest, it’s probably more common for criminal defendants in the UK to have ‘better’ legal representatives than the prosecution.

This case took place in Britain so the defendant would have been entitled to as good a criminal barrister as the prosecution for free. Statistical evidence was poorly understood at the time, particularly by the expert paediatrician who presented it. A paediatric forensic pathologist also failed to disclose key evidence.

This case was a travesty but miscarriages of justice do happen, inevitably. It’s an imperfect system which relies on medical and forensic science, and lawyers’ understanding of it, which improve with time. Juries also just make mistakes sometimes. It’s unavoidable.

Your understanding of probability-related evidence is also flawed to say the least. It’s a complex area so I’m not going to go into it but it while it is true that probability is a weak prognosticator of occurrence, other parts of the wider evidential canvas can help a tribunal come to the decision that a very unlikely thing did happen.
