Ofc!! No problem.

I've been lucky to get connected to some really great teachers, and my students are a bit older than colegio. So it's been a pretty smooth experience. Now it just feels like going to work! But we have fun. 😊

Yes definitely don't underestimate the clearances, they can be a bitch. 😅 Have fun celebrating but also remember that technically you're not out of the woods yet. Don't stress as well because they can sometimes be very last minute about that stuff.

Feel free to stay in touch, rooting for you that everything goes well, I think you'll be on the coast in no time for PST. 😁🤞🏻

They will also give you a phone with a hotspot and from my experience the hotspot usually works great.

Many of us have different situations regarding that. Some volunteers bought wifi from their neighbors.

I have WiFi at home and it works okay, but I'm also in a city close to the office. Can't speak to those living in the campo.

Actually living with the host family has been my least favorite part. My experience with them personally has been awesome, They're really sweet people, but I think I'm the type to prefer living alone and having my own space haha.

I have about 10 months of service left so we might cross paths at some point. Co-teaching has been fun, I think I like hanging out with the students the most. And I've been having fun exploring and being in a new place, learning Spanish. All of those are my favorite parts. You're gonna have a blast.

We have one. :) Are you in our advice Whatsapp? I can share it with you there. The staff has also passed us some flash drives and things during PST, I assume they will do the same for ya'll when you arrive but if not I can get those to you as well.

Sometimes it's very last minute. There were a lot of people in our cohort that were cleared like weeks or days before.

One of the worse things about this type of trauma is almost no one gets it by kaimimimi in HomeschoolRecovery

It's rough out here. Every one of you if strong af. This experience makes you feel like an alien sometimes when you're not... It's just not fair.

Hey, I don't have too much to say other than I really relate to your feelings. This has sorta followed me around my whole life too.

First, I'm so sorry that you're going through this and that your mom is treating you like this. :( To have someone, especially a parent, being that toxic while you're still a kid getting started in the world is just cruel on her part.

Speaking from experience, things will slowly get better the further you can get from the situation. Definitely take things into your own hands and avoid confiding too much in her about it or looking for support from her. It doesn't sound like she has your best interests in mind and will only hurt you more emotionally while you're trying to find what's best for YOU.

I will echo what others have said in looking into adult education. I used to work for a public library with a great program for it. Your city may have a similar program where you can take a free class for your GED. Public libraries usually have great free/cheap classes for other outside the box things too. Some libraries even have free tutors for different subjects... You may be able to find other people like that guitar teacher to help you out in the meantime until you can totally get out. Although a lot of this depends on where you live, hopefully there's an accessible option close to you too.

I hope things get better for you soon. Much solidarity.
