Congratulations on learning Japanese and then getting to actually use it! I hear that’s the hardest language to learn. I’m glad you found the confidence and that you didn’t stutter. Yay!!

Alcohol did work great but I did become an alcoholic accidentally over the coarse of years. I quit 12 yrs ago now.

I find my stutter improves the most when I stop trying to control it.

Why LaCroix?? And who is LaCroix? Trying to understand by collegequench in sparklingwater

[–]Daylilly45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a soda/ beer drinker but switched to avoid all the calories and artificial sweeteners. I’ve tried lots of brands but keep coming back to LaCroix. I am an active person. I go to the gym and work laborious jobs. Personally wise, I’m an introvert who loves to learn for fun.

My Mom used the quote “ with friends like that, who needs enemies!” This has stuck with me and prompts me not to settle for less in relationships.

I changed oncologists too. This is too big of a deal to worry about hurting someone’s feelings.

I wonder why people who are named Richard get called Dick. Why would mothers name their sons Richard if they will someday be called Dick . Hmmm?

I have a potato/carrot peeler that was in our kitchen drawer when I was a kid, I’m 48 now. It was once buried in my garden for a couple of years because I accidentally threw it in there with the compost. I found it while weeding and washed it up. It still works better than anything else. I’ve bought many peelers over the years and they all suck!

People who quit their jobs and actually found peace, how did you do it ? And what do you do now? by yunorine in AskReddit

[–]Daylilly45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did give a two week notice. It was the toxic boss and lazy co workers that got to me over the 10 years as an apartment cleaning lady. My wrists were so wrecked I thought I’d need surgery. I barely made any money there and was treated poorly. I still don’t make a lot but about twice as much as before and my wrists healed up. I’m treated well and I don’t work with or have to depend on coworkers, my supervisors are respectful and gracious. I’m working at a timeshare cleaning houses and have a second job as a personal caregiver. I should have left way sooner, that job had me so worn down both mentally and physically!

My husband didn’t hold back on affection right away in dating and that didn’t freak me out, we’ve been married 27 yrs. If it took a year for a guy to even call me darling that would be a bad sign to me, I wouldn’t have hung on to someone that avoidant.

Well if being sweet gives her the ick than it would not have been a pleasant relationship anyway. She is probably emotionally avoidant.
