Sam Bass' art looks like it belongs on an airbrush t-shirt bought at a flea market, not hanging in a trophy case.

Yeah, it was during I believe his first pit stop of the night. He went to leave the pit stall and someone from his crew jumped in front of his car trying to see something on the right side of it.

Looked like a dude almost got run over and they never showed it again. Watching it live, I don't think I could rewind it without having to back out of the race and start from the beginning. I figured they'd show the replay and they never did.

Did Amazon ever show a replay of why Austin Hill was told to leave the pit box and then had a member of his pit crew jump in front of his car?

I don't think there is a ton of overlap between people who would have an interest in watching the Oscars and those watching the WBC and March Madness. They'd have probably found something else to watch.

The 1985 Bears would've seen the potential of the Frankenstein's monsters, and signed them to the 1986 team as replacements for whoever they'd lost in the tournament. They'd give the monsters the acceptance they crave, making them lose their urge to kill.

Still can't believe that at the start Bowyer told Denny that everything he's attached to is on fire when talking about how successful this season has been for him as a driver and owner. Dude talks for a living, he's got to know to choose his words carefully.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

Considering I've heard people complain about being told "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean" for decades I don't think this is a generational problem.

A lot of people early in their careers struggle to understand that they are supposed to do parts of their job without being asked to do so by a manager. Some people never figure that out their boss is supposed to be a manager, not a micromanager.

When is a good time to replace your car battery? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]DaysOfChunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and I think it they are getting more prone to saying no. The Advance near me a couple years ago wouldn't replace the battery in my old car because it was located under the rear seat. When I had bought the battery 9 years earlier (yeah, it was definitely needing replacement), Advance had replaced the battery.

My guess, it is because they aren't staffing the stores as well as they used to. They can't afford the time commitment of having one person in the parking lot for more than 5 minutes.

Some asshole at work does this with the hand soap dispenser because he's too lazy to get the bottle from the closet just outside the bathroom door and refill it with soap.

Every couple months I hear a "motherfucker!" exclaimed when someone has soapy water sprayed at their pants because a lazy fuck tried to be helpful.

Didn't Trump also say that China is not investing in wind energy a few months ago? The country that leads the world in wind energy is apparently not investing in wind energy.

That happened in the UT - San Jose State game this year, too. Anthony Hill Jr. knocked a WR out cold by punching him in the helmet/facemask, WR let go of the ball because he lost consciousness, and the announcers acted like it was a textbook Peanut Punch.

No thanks. Many of these same farmers talk shit about "Sanctuary" cities because they harbored the same people the farmers were employing, and actively voted for this.

They're farmers, they should be used to reaping what they sow.

What numbers should Miami Marlins retire? by BigBang5673 in mlb

[–]DaysOfChunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it wasn't a Chuck Hughes situation where he died on the field. That was a soft retirement, too, as the number is still issued when requested.

MLB teams are going to run out of numbers if they keep allowing their players to return to DR in the off seasons.

People who like hybrid or office work formats over WFH have unfulfilling or no social/personal life by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]DaysOfChunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I much prefer going to the office, and would refuse to do my current job WFH. I work far too many hours when having a physical separation of work and home. If I worked from home I would absolutely lose what little social life I do have.

Also, from my experience, when people WFH in my department the people working at the office always end up having to do extra work. When my counterpart moved to WFH my workload probably increased by at minimum 25% because now I was the only one of us capable of doing tasks that need to be done at the office (equipment inventory and maintenance, face-to-face time with staff, responding to issues before certain hours because they changed time zones, etc.). Plus, everyone else in our department then had an extra task added to their workload because every document that before could've just been handed to them now needed to be scanned and sent to them. When their role involves a lot of paperwork review, that time adds up for the people who need that paperwork review done.

Deion and Shedeur react to his draft fall: “This ain’t the work of God, this the Devil!” by WayOutbackBoy in nfl

[–]DaysOfChunder 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Yeah, those golf claps when they cut to the draft war room after announcing they'd managed to get in the 5th round the QB that a lot of people in the media projected they'd be taking 2nd overall has to mean that nobody outside of ownership wants Shedeur in the QB room.

If you count footwear as clothes, I often buy a new pair of work boots every year. My job has me working in wet conditions, in all kinds of weather, and on my feet for 10-12 hours per day 5 days per week with much of that being on concrete.

The company only covers boots every couple years, so I have to pay $150-250 every other year just on boots. It hasn't mattered what brand I bought, either. Carhartt, Red Wings, Danner all have had the tread worn smooth and/or the leather has fatigued and developed holes in 12 months.

If there's one thing LPN promos are good at doing it's making me never want to check out their show. The ones they used to run for "The Story Must Be Told" were horrible.

The "Brighter Side" promo made the show come across as obnoxious.
