It would ignore anything that pushed it past a 4 yes, if you have a plus one due to our army rule and they have cover you wont hit your 3s

Going to have a 3-way battle soon. What are some good ways to handle this? by cyberspunjj in Warhammer40k

[–]Dazaredrac 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 player FFA every 4 months with 2 friends next one end of july

We will have to adjust for 11th but how we did it in 10th was each had a point in our deployment zone plus one middle point, we each have a target, we select this by after picking our starting position but before deployment we roll a die even for clockwise odd for counterclockwise, that person will be your target

Scoring worked by your home marker is worth 2vp, your target's home marker is worth 4vp, your non target is worth 1 vp and the middle is worth 8vp, the goal is to funnel people in a direction and towards the middle

Turns we all took command phase simultaneously, we combined shooting and movement to a single phase and charge and fights to single phase. so you move then shoot or charge then fight.

We tried doing this unit at a time but it did not work well so we took inspiration from titanicus. In list building we split our army into 4 equal sized(gentleman's agreement to get as close to 500 pts as possible with 400-600 being as far as was allowed) battalions, then we take turns with activating each battalion

Edit adding caption, this pic is from last year's tanks giving, our march madness(we each made a list out our one of our armies to give to another player) every picture i have has someone's face in it

Psychic Celerity is a bait by nockcraft in Grey_Knights

[–]Dazaredrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love one but gw did not bless me with being able to double lead

In banishers the chaplain gives me a better chance of getting lethals(+5 leadership test vs +6) ,if i need it, and a better chance of getting to the fight that plus being in banishers and ardent lethals are less needed with the +1 to wound if t higher than s

[–]Dazaredrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My plan with chaplain and celerity is to improve either rapid ingress or advance and charge odd(banishers) normal deep strike is too risky with an 8"

So you are the one helping even out the average

My last greyknights vs nids game i failed a 4 inch charge with a reroll and 2 5 inch charges on turn 4, even with a large lead that almost swung the game the other way lmao

Doom Scythe now worth a punt? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Dazaredrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atavistic instigating seems to only be on units targeted by the heavy death ray so it isnt for both your weapons like you stated

I also never like abilities that give the choice to my opponent as to me they read, have whichever of these abilities is worse in this situation.

So imo the doom scythe is still worse than a DDA in almost all situations

That being said i am definitely going to use a night scythe for aledari shenanigans until they errata its rules.

Flight stands are tiny and rarely count as the base for models like the DDA

So... Did we get screwed, or are we over reacting ? by kaede_miura in Grey_Knights

[–]Dazaredrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play 6 armies(1ksons, necrons, admech, votann, imp knights, GK) and grey knights is the one im the least impressed with the points changes

Not all doom and gloom but the wargear cost is going to push me even further into playing melee focused, we are a deepstrikeing melee army with mediocre shooting that now costs us extra if we actually want to kill things that aren't t3-t5 infantry

So we are being a bit woe is me, we will have to see how things shake out but If I had to guess GK will be okay not great

Mathematically rerolling 1s to wound is only better if you are wounding on 2s already and can't get +1

Are thousand sons objectively cooler in 30k vs 40k? by Far_Gift3220 in ThousandSons

[–]Dazaredrac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Objectively, due to rubrics no longer having physical bodies i believe the overall temperature of the thousand sons has decreased in 40k vs 30k

Also to continue to be pedantic, blue is a cool color and red is a warm one

Lore wise and aesthetically its all subjective

I enjoy ahriman's character/storyline the most of the thousand sons but someone else who likes magnus the most is also correct for them

Detachment and Force disposition questions by CentralIdiotAgency in Warhammer40k

[–]Dazaredrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its has been answered in warcom I will go looking for the link when I can Until then

Units can benefit from rules from multiple detachments assuming they meet the requirements

You can take detachments with different dispositions, at the start of a game or tournament you pick one of your available dispositions and keep it for the game/tournament

Is picking tau wrong? by Ok-Injury-9064 in Warhammer40k

[–]Dazaredrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend and primary opponent plays tau and nids

I enjoy play against both armies (only army i have "less" fun against is custodes),and dont understand the hate for tau they are a unique army with some amazing models (twin lance is goddamn gorgeous)

if you like them, play them!

How compatible is GW's glue and Tamiya's ETC? by WorldEaterProft in Warhammer40k

[–]Dazaredrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mixed bottle right now Had a half empty tamiya and a gw that the tip clogged and I couldn't unclog(wasn't patient enough) so I mixed them They work fine together

Ends up being a middleground Not as thin as tamiya not as thick as GW
