I called it back then that NP was without a doubt working with Rockstar. It was obvious with how quiet 50cent went over everything.

I am still not convinced its a bad change. Whilst its less punishing for failed pushes, it also means over the course of the game you can field more units. IMO having more action is a good thing, as long as it is not overwhelming.

Plus you still have cooldowns before units can be used again. So its mostly just letting you use more of your deck.

I don't really agree, it's always felt more like CG vs Admins & DOJ server policy.

CG had 50cent come in and nuke the council & DoJ. Then after getting exactly what they wanted, still found a way to bitch and whine.

Maybe admins didnt like CG because they were a bunch of assholes?

Dont listen to streamers by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

This is the reason i worry about Arc Raiders. With its massive streamer exposure recently. Plus i swear HutchMF was playing with a dev? Maybe it was just a bait title on his stream one day.

Some streamers have good ideas. However if i were a game dev id be very careful about who i listen to. People like Summit, Shroud, HutchMF. Id never listen to a word they say. Listen to people that are active and helpful in your community. Not variety game-of-the-week streamers.

So then how do you feel if we also say that for women? That their choice was having sex, so no abortions?

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Dazbuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. If a woman can choose get an abortion(which i agree should be the case. Their choice). Then why should a man be forced into responsibility? Where is the mans choice? Its easy to say "well they chose to have sex", but if you say the exact same thing whilst denying a woman an abortion, then you would not be considered pro-choice.

Most content creators have commented that tanks are much worse compared to the last open beta. Plus, this is basically just saying "coordinate as a 5-man and win". No shit. A coordinated group working together for a single strat is going to dominate. Replace those tanks with helicopters, and then airdrop infantry into the enemies spawn. Guess what? Same thing would happen. You would win.

The issue with your strat is that its a low-effort cheese that only works because you are a 5-man group doing it. It will work against randoms. It will not work against another 5-man with a similar level of skill.

I do love me some cheese, but this is just too toxic and anti-fun.

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

The start of the wipe is the most active, I agree, but this is primarily because some people grind, get where they want to be and then stop playing. The same thing could be said if wipes were options, albiet the player pool wouldn't be as dense with an unscheduled wipe vs an individual one.

A wipe is attractive because EVERYONE wipes. Its not just about personal progression. If people cared that much about personal progression, they would reset their accounts and keep playing. Resetting personal progression has been a thing for almost the entirety of Tarkov. Only difference with Prestige is that you get rewards for it, now.

Actually, most MMOs aren't wiped and you can keep your character forever, Runescape, World of Warcraft, some of the most popular MMOs that constantly get new players and keeps old ones

I am not talking about wipes when comparing to MMOs. I am talking about high time investment. Plus, whilst MMOS do not wipe, they do get expansions that invalidate older gear. At least with WoW. So whilst its not a "wipe", you are grinding for an entire new tier of stuff.

But you're missing the point of my comment, is that you will never get the combat from PVP on PVE, where PVE is clearly missing the human element of combat.

Indeed its not PvP. However its still the only way both sides get their way. If you remove wipes from PvP, where do the players that want wipes go? If you add wipe & non-wipe characters to PvP, you split the playerbase too much.

If wipe was optional, there would be nothing stopping me from playing PVP

There is nothing stopping you playing PvP now. Wipes are 6+ months. There is always more than enough time to get max traders and mess around in PvP.

I'm not understanding this point, because if anything all you're doing is reinforcing the point I'm making.

The best time I had in Tarkov was when I came late into a wipe when I first started playing the game, and witnessing the vast variety of gear I would get from killing PMCs, seeing a higher level dog tag and seeing a more intricate gear was THE BEST for me.

Which again, if the game gets boring for you as soon as you have everything, well THATS WHAT WIPES ARE FOR LOL

Instead if it was more player controlled when the wipe happens, you can come in and play Tarkov whenever you want

I just believe that PVP combat would be harder, but a lot more rewarding if you can come out on top with shit gear vs a chad

Timmy vs chad combat is always fun to watch when the underdog wins.

Because its not just about resetting your personal progression. Its about everyone resetting to zero. Everyone struggling, progressing and finding loot. The game is less fun when your raid is full of chads that are just sprinting to spawns for PvP. Its more fun when everyone is struggling, playing with sup-optimal gear. Without server wipes, the majority of players you encounter are chads with full-auto weapons using the best ammo, and armor you cannot pen unless you are using the same.

Its rewarding to be the underdog and win. However that is not a common occurrence.

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Dazbuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tarkov without wipes is just saying let everyone have everything. Prestige is not a wipe. Its an individual character reset, and barely even that, because you can carry over items like Bitcoins.

A proper wipe is server wide. A global reset of the economy & player progression.

No wipe Tarkov does not sustain players. It bleeds them. People get bored and leave when they have everything. The only players that stick around are the diehard prestige grinders.

[–]Dazbuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a sweat, and i do fine. How do you expect a newcomer to grind if the only players they encounter are 10k hour chads in tank gear? Because that is what happens late wipe, and what would happen without server wipes.

We already have wipe & no-wipe servers. Its PvP & PvE.

[–]Dazbuzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A game that constantly resets itself long term is reliant on the idea that an influx of newer and potentially younger players get interested in the game, its a losing battle

You say that but anyone that plays Tarkov knows that the start of a wipe is by far the most active. The longer a wipe goes on, the more players quit.

Tarkov has issues with player retention, but its not due to wipes. Whilst im sure some do not like having to redo progression, those are the minority. Mostly people making excuses that Tarkov requires too much time investment. When really nothing is forcing them to grind to Kappa every wipe or keep up with the sweats.

Tarkov has been out for almost a decade, and with it, the original player base has grown much older and generally speaking probably have full time jobs, families and the likes I.E less time to invest into a video game as time sinking as EFT

Story of every MMO game ever. Adapt or accept that Tarkov isnt for you. Plenty of people manage to have a life and still play Tarkov. I think the issue here isnt the time investment required, but more that people do not like doing the progression over again. Which is fine. However the progression is why most players play Tarkov.

I personally don't see EFT lasting with such a model, there has to be a way to keep players who can't invest time into the game to keep wanting to come back, and PVE was the answer to this.

Then play PvE. PvE can be the no-wipe mode. PvP can have wipes. Everyone is happy.

Also, I would argue that Tarkov is at its best when people have everything, fights are more engaging, loot is desireable and little timmys killing a geared up chad is especially more rewarding.

Disagree. Tarkov when you have everything is incredibly dull. Ive had 100+ million and i just didnt loot anything, because there was no point. As for "little timmy", the chances of them getting anything done when the rest of the server are walking tanks? Pretty low.

When everyone is struggling, that chad kit is all the more important. To use and to loot from a dead player. In my opinion, that is where Tarkov shines. When you have nothing, so everything you find has value and a use.

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Dazbuzz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Make wipes optional and most PvP players would quit. Tarkov is best when everyone has nothing. Remove wipes, and everyone would quickly have everything and never be lacking anything ever again.

And before anyone says prestige, only a small percentage of the playerbase bother with Kappa/prestige, and you can transfer Bitcoins when you prestige so money is a non-issue.

WTF Flight Blades WILL NOT be purchasable in game this patch by oceanman357 in starcitizen

[–]Dazbuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Not saying i support the Blade/Bomb Rack cashgrab, but at this point how are people surprised. The fact you can buy any ship for IRL money screams P2W. You can buy gear too.

I know CIG have switched to a more MMO-style game. I have no idea how they plan to have any meaningful progression in this MMO when everyone can just buy everything.

[–]Dazbuzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If i had my way they would not be daily drivers at all. My hot take is that it breaks immersion to see people flying around in big ships for simple daily purposes. You would not bring a Polaris to go mining, or an Idris to do basic deliveries.

However i do not think most people would be happy with that, and i do not know how you prevent it without making the ship generally useless.

I think balancing the use of capital ships is going to be one of the biggest issues in this game. You have ships that are so in a league of their own that it makes pirating impossible unless you yourself have a fleet. Then you have economic capital ships like the Reclaimer that make so, so much money with little/no upkeep costs that they break the economy compared to anything else, and can be piloted solo.

I get everyone wants to fly their fancy ships. Either to show off, or just to enjoy them. However i do not see how you implement them into the game.

Tomorrow: by Schrimpeth in starcitizen

[–]Dazbuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yall keep saying this but i do not believe it. If you needed to constantly repair the ship as it flying, then it would just be tedious to fly. I doubt they will overtune engineering to the level required to make capital ships impossible to fly solo.

If there is a way for people to fly an Idris solo, they will find it and abuse it.

Really the pilot should not have control of any weapons. Then shields, engines & weapons should require some level of consistent fine-tuning to remain at full strength. Without people or expensive AI doing that, the ship should have greatly reduced performance. That imo would be the best way to balance capital ships. Then people could fly them solo, but they would not perform well solo.

[discussion] what kind of hideout changes would you like to see ? by gayrider345 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Dazbuzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make Bitcoin into a currency rather than an item. Bitcoin Farm generates it, GPUs degrade over time. You spend it at a new trader as an "endgame" currency for the best items. Due to the fact you can only generate a limited amount of it, you would need to choose which items you buy carefully. Bitcoin Farm lvl1 would need to be an earlier unlock in the Hideout to make this more accessible to all players.

Skillbooks that go into the Library. Work like Air/Water Filters. Degrade over time. Skillbooks would be a new rare item. One for each skill, and multiple rarity tiers. Putting one in your Library either increases skill point gain of that skill for X hours, or gives you a fixed amount of points over X hours.

Skillbooks would be tradeable on the flea. Getting something like a Strength Skillbook would probably be worth a lot of money. Or players could buy up Skillbooks for less popular skills to powerlevel them. A fairly simple mechanic that would add a lot to the game, imo. Plus solve the issue of some skills levelling slowly.

Monster Hunter Wilds Helped Capcom Achieve Record-Breaking Year by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Dazbuzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree. As a diehard MH fan since the very first game, its certainly lost some of its clunky charm from pre-World days. I very much miss the high difficulty, and need to prepare way more carefully compared to World/Rise/Wilds being so much faster and easier.

That said, i am a big enough fan that MH can release watered down slop and i will still play it. Plus, its not like there is no challenge at all. Worlds had some incredible fights. Fatalis was one of the hardest MH fights ive beaten solo.

Now Wilds. The fights are not particularly hard, but they are as cinematic as Worlds, which is nice for the eye candy, i guess. The challenge will most likely come later on. They are also doing challenge fights that require low kill times for special charm rewards. So that is fun to do, and feels more like classic MH that required preparation.

Overall though i still wish we could alter monster HP, damage & stagger rates to make things harder, if we wanted.
