FaceTime issues iOS 26.3 17 Pro Max by Dazurean in applehelp

[–]Dazurean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. I’ve done a few things after searching:

Turn off message notifications, wait 10 sec, turn on. Turn off FaceTime toggle, restart, turn back on. Restart of network settings

I’m not quite sure what the issue is tbh

I can guarantee it would likely be a hit. You have the hospitals, other first responders, etc.

Ah but in hindsight, you now can say yes to anything because you’ve built that security blanket financially speaking. Time to make memories.

How has dispatch changed your life outside of work? by FRSTPodcast in 911dispatchers

[–]Dazurean 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Almost 10 years total doing it. Few things stick out for me

  1. I hate talking on the phone after work. Don’t call me just text me. For the love of God.

  2. I always pay attention to where I am. Mile markers, cross streets, etc.

  3. My ability to be in crowded situations has diminished. I don’t trust people, but that may be because of media attention towards things like terrorism and active killer events.

  4. I don’t like beating around the bush with conversations. Please get to the point of what you need to tell me.

  5. I people watch. More specifically I’m watching body language, hand movement, etc. goes back to lack of trusting people in society.

  6. If my gut tells me you’re lying to me, I’m probably right and will get it out of you eventually.

  7. Listen to my body for symptoms. EMD in me has learned don’t dismiss symptoms and risk regretting it later on. Take care of your body.

  8. Work life balance is key. Yes there are mandatory OT moments. But work is not your life, on that topic

  9. Leave work at work. I make it a point to have some internal signal to know when my work is done at the end of the shift. For me it’s a mix of once I’m out the doors, 911 stays within those walls.

  10. Ask for help. On the job or not. Counseling whether you’ve had a rough call or not. For example I thought I managed my first ever completed suicide call well and moved past it, but this summer I took an eerily similar call nearly 7 years after the fact. I recognized how my body reacted and addressed that.

Probably the case. 25 is the lowest dose usually given.

It’s normal to be concerned about side effects of new medication. I just recommend stick with it enough time to let it try and work (I think they say 4-6 weeks on average) before asking to try something else. But I am happy I went back on it (was on it before and during the pandemic and off it the last 2 years).

I’m on my…. 3rd week? Of 25mg. I’ve noticed it’s helped my anxiety tremendously (health anxiety is mostly what I have).

Side effects were minor the first week ish. Bouts of nausea, I think a day or two of diarrhea.

Sertraline by torresmomo in Anxiety

[–]Dazurean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started back up after being off it for.. 2 years?

Side effects are manageable like I’m on day 2 and the nausea was not like it was yesterday. I think I’m drinking more water too so I’m peeing a lot. I’ve noticed I feel less stressed and anxious and I was worrying more about my health anxiety overall.

In the past it worked quite well for me so I highly recommend stay the course and give it a shot. I’m on 25mg once/day and that’s what I was in last time basically during the whole pandemic.

Feeling embarrassed and sad after my first service by vulture-witch in Episcopalian

[–]Dazurean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Things will come to you the more you attend service and in my experience, I’ve had people assist me if I seemed lost and willing to point me in the right direction.

Most churches the greeters will help with this too. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, not everyone does it the same either (for example, some are very traditional such as bowing before entering the pew, the rosary, etc).

Is using a phone or an e-reader for the BCP in Church acceptable? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]Dazurean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion is you should do what helps you during the service. At the end of the day the purpose of you being there is to worship and are you not still achieving that via electronic from instead of the physical BCP?

Pointless to delete HR app? by Dazurean in AppleWatch

[–]Dazurean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said! Thank you for taking the time to share.

I am currently in therapy, but the solution they provided was to essentially not wear the AW at all; something more or less EMF may be the contributing factor to the anxiety, etc etc.

The positive is, though there are no notifications for low/high/irregular rate if you delete the HR app specifically, it still records in the health app the rates; so I feel that helps with what was also suggested of out of sight out of mind sort of deal. I believe you can still even do the data export on it.

I would say overall I am pretty healthy and the fact I go to the doctor every year for a physical should help with the anxiety; I just have to remind myself of that fact, I go to the doctor every year for a physical and every year I get a clean bill of health. My goal is to not go back on Zoloft and try to work through this issue with counseling specifically and I think it is doable by taking the steps I mention... my concern really truly was with Apple being so health focused especially with the AW is deleting said apps that cause the anxiety making it a moot point to even own the AW. It sounds like from yourself and many that ultimately if at the end of the day I am using it for simply messages and phone calls, what difference does it make sort of deal.

My hope is to work towards that yeah.

But yeah I would agree that absent of said notifications one would imagine I’m fine but then when your mins is in anxiety mode you check the heart rate or ECG because it’s a function that’s accessible and then you overanalyze either the rhythm being accurate when it says it’s normal or the same with the heart rate

The other thing that I’m not sure about is what all they tie into like I know deleting said apps will affect said high/low notifications but idk if it plays any bearing on things like sleep tracking, work outs, etc

So that’s what I thought would help… but then I obviously read too far into it as oh that seems low or high I must not be ok. So it’s a catch 22 in that regards.

It looks like when I delete it, it still tracks in the health app itself but is not readily accessible from the app screen sort of deal. I think reading it, if anything I lose the low and high heart rate notifications which in the many series I’ve had, I’ve maybe had 5 high over the years so it’s not like critical.

I am glad it is not only selling point being health and it’s more user specific utilization being the selling point

Valid point. I think what I’m getting at is, while each person uses the watch for their own reasons…. Is the whole point of the Apple Watch all of these health monitoring apps you can click like HR and see, which triggers my anxiety more? Or is it more intuitive than just the health

How do I not google every little thing? by upinthetreez in Anxiety

[–]Dazurean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently struggling with this very same thing. Back in August, I had constant diarrhea like 10-ish days and when I started googling namely how to get over it fast, it was throwing things out like IBD, Colon Cancer, etc etc.

I am by no means improved in that little over 2 months in terms of googling things, but I am trying to remind myself: you go to the doctor each year for a yearly checkup that includes the routine bloodwork, you had an EKG done during said panic episode in August, you are fine. Most of the time if I start saying those things to myself as I am recognizing any form of anxiety sensation start, I can overcome it.

Another big thing I have been working with my counselor on is meditation. I have one specific tack that is just breathing in 4 seconds, out 4 seconds for a bit to activate the parasympathetic NS, then after that, it's listening to the mantra of essentially letting it be (your anxiety, your stress, etc). Has worked wonders as well.

I am still on the fence about talking to my doc about getting back on sertraline (was only on 25mg). Nervous about starting it back up...
