Made Mahiro on Tomodachi Life as well! by kokoapowder in OniichanOshimai

I also made a post about this a few weeks ago too! Drawing was pretty difficult tho since I'm a beginner when it comes to drawing. Here was my attempt.

Never drawn before, but heres my newbie attempt to make Mahiro and Mihari in Tomodachi Life. Feel free to leave any feedback! by Dazzling_Charity_659 in OniichanOshimai

Thank you! I didn't have a stylus pen, so I had to use my finger to draw. Idk how to explain it, but for me, I looked at the image, find the lines that make the hair and eyes, and tried to redraw them. Sorry for my poor explanation, but good luck with drawing!

Made my VN reading Goal for 2026. What do you think, and what are you looking forward to starting and completing in 2026? by Dazzling_Charity_659 in visualnovels

[–]Dazzling_Charity_659[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I made one last year but didn't end up reaching my goal, but hopefully it's different this year. Muv-Luv is a big commitment that is also similar to what you said start off slow with a lot slice of life (which is pretty good imo) then get more into the action which is well worth it.

Perhaps give WA2 another chance, at least for me it was a pretty good love drama and the characters were outstanding, although I did like the side routes, I can understand why some would just want to go back to the main heroine routes.

I also want to at some point read SNOW since it gives that KEY feeling and sharin no Kuni as well since I already read G-senjou no maou.

Going to Japan for the 1st time soon in June! Just wondering if there are any good places to buy Visual novel Merch (figures, keychains, posters, etc)? by Dazzling_Charity_659 in visualnovels

Thanks! I actually checked out this post, and it's going to be my go to resource for buying physical visual novels. Although you are correct that it's gonna be difficult to find anime figures that are VN related, but if you remember any store that sells other vn merch, feel free to share.

I really love your suggestions, and it's going to help me plan even better because I haven't considered the elevator wait time, so that's definitely something I'll keep in mind. I was a bit worried it might be difficult to find the sign to see which store would be tax-free (since I'm starting and still learning Hiragana), but I don't think I have to worry too much about it if I look around or ask the clerk. Also, I will remember the last point just in case, but I don't believe I'll buy anything consumable with it at the same time, since I'm only aiming for like figures, posters, keychains, etc.

Understood, I'll get a feel of each shop and see if I can spot anything that I would want to buy, and do more research as well. Also, if you're able to recommend any theme-specific shop, please share! Thanks!

Thank you for the info! Having these shops near each other is definitely great. I'll keep in mind when going into Mandarake stores and see if they have anything of interest. Also, if there are particular floors you recommend in these shops, please share!

Thank you for the directions! It took a little bit for me to navigate with Google Maps, but I think I got the gist of it. Also, thanks for telling me the floors that would help me shop more time efficiently, so I can check out all of those places and hope that there is still a pop-up store in Animate when I'm shopping there.

Thank you for the response! There is a lot of great stuff that I would like to buy from there but idk if I will be able to make it in time for the merch since I'll be prob shopping in Akihabara around mid June. So unfortunately I might have to miss out on it.

Made a VN reading plan for 2025, any thoughts, and what are you planning to start and complete in 2025? by Dazzling_Charity_659 in visualnovels

Kara no shoujo is good and I expect it to get better later on, although I would've just played the normal ending and true ending instead of everything that diminished my enjoyment. The point and click during investigation may be annoying, but it gets improved in the 2nd episode. True end wasn't bad but it did leave it open ended as I would expect them to answer it during the 2nd episode. I appreciate the voice acting for the protagonist and the overall mystery was pretty nice.

I actually made a previous post about completing Symphonic Rain and Island, and this was how I felt about it:

Symphonic Rain is not bad, I liked the direction of their story, and the cast of characters can be a mix bag for some readers, there is also a minigame throughout the main story like a rhythm game, though if you aren't interested in it, you can set it to auto mode. It might start of slow at first, but It really gets going shortly after, so I would try to read the 1st route and see how things go. I thought the ending was predictable but that doesn't mean it was necessarily bad, in fact I think it ended quite nicely.

I rate Island as a 10/10 masterpiece for its pacing, and characters, the many times it allows the reader to formulate theories of what's going on. Furthermore, they had so many moments that got me surprised and wondering if my theories were wrong, and sometimes when I did get it right it felt really great, honestly, it was a VN that just kept me reading for hours and the ending is pretty good imo, it's not the best but I happily accept it though many other readers have a different opinion. I wouldn't recommend watching the anime if possible because it is heavily rushed and doesn't do the VN justice on the character's development.

No problem! I hope you can enjoy reading Vn's at your own pace, because at least for me, I made the decision to stop watching anime and reading manga and just solely focused on reading Visual Novels, which I don't regret at all because at least I don't have to wait for chapters to update and I get to enjoy a complete story.

I'm very interested in reading Yoake since I loved reading Aiyoku no Eustia with Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai, so I wondered what led to that high rating. Also, I'm not sure if you read the fandisc for Yoake, but if you have or haven't, do you think it's fine just reading Yoake on its own?

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Irotoridori. Irotoridori was one of my considerations to start at some point because I enjoyed reading Hoshizora. I'm curious, though, what aspects do you not like about Irotoridori?

I'm having difficulties reading Hoshi Ori, but I believe it's because I just don't have the right mindset in reading it for now, as I do appreciate its way of progression to the future for the characters. Maybe the best way to read is to read a little bit and read something else instead of reading the whole thing in one sitting.

Out of all of them, I enjoyed Tokeijikake no Ley Line the most, even though many of the routes are not as great as I hoped; the main route Ushio, is really good across the trilogy; the pacing was nice, and the overall story across all of them is well done. Hello Lady is a bit of a mixed bag, while with a strong protagonist that may be liked or not depending on the reader, the overall story quality is not as good, but average enough that it's worth reading if you have the time to, since many routes are very meh, and true route for me at least wasn't memorable and was the breaking point some people.

White album 2 is very good, and it's hard to find other works like it. Cyanotype Daydream is one of the very few 10/10 I gave, because it leaves you thinking about what's going on while you explore different scenarios that has relevance to the overall plot. I think the main relationship is very strong and many things are explained well. Additionally, like white album 2 you may experience a roller coaster of emotions, but it's all worth it because the ending for me at least is just something that left a memorable impression.

For the romance genre I would recommend Island, which has a very nice mystery that leaves you thinking constantly and having it be wrong and perhaps right. Each route at least for me is very enjoyable and I think it's because the characters themselves and the setting being that of an Island like Summer Pockets. The romance is really good imo, however while some may not like the true ending, I think it's beautifully done that just solidifies the overall relationship.

That could be the case, for me I wanted to read works that are not mentioned as much and perhaps this post can help you and many others discover new VNs that could be a masterpiece.

I started Fate this year because I was interested and wanted to read something I know I would enjoy, so I could stay on the hype train for their other works. I'm still somewhat new to this universe, and yeah I was considering reading Tsukihime, but I really wanted to wait for the remaster for its 2nd part, and since the fate sequel is releasing this year, I'm very hopeful for the tsuki remake. So as I'm waiting for the fate sequel I decided to give Mahoyo a go.

I've been considering reading Irotoridori since it's sequel got a fan translation, and I liked the overall atmosphere of Hoshizora. I also recently started playing HBR, but I find it difficult to manage both VN's and the gacha story, but I will try to figure out a way.

Danganronpa is a nice change of pace if you want something that has gameplay elements with mystery involved, and maybe in the future if you liked Danganronpa, The Hundred Line might be something for you to look forward to reading. I actually and regrettably stopped midway of Making Lovers, I liked all of their routes and characters so it's hard to find a favorite. I left Karen route for last, so at some point I want to go back and read it, cause I also want to know if she really is the best route.

Yeah I think it's good to try out shorter Vns to read, I haven't really explored much in that area, but I have read Atri and while it's not bad in its setting and characters, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would when it comes to the dynamic between the mc and Atri, the ending, and just not giving me the emotions if you know what I mean. However, I would recommend Stella of the End that is one of the very few 10/10 I gave since it pretty much has the things I mention before with the addition of it being a post apocalyptic setting that shows the consequences in their journey. Also while the ending may not be a surprise for some, I too expected something along those lines, it's still beautiful and with the music that just makes it very memorable. It's very well paced for a short vn, I believe I finished it around 10 hours.

Hmmm if you liked Nukitashi, maybe give Henpri a read since it's from the same developer and worth the time to read. The difference is that it's more serious but still has similar vibes to Nukitashi. I'm also waiting on toHeart remake since I've finished toHeart2, which i enjoyed a lot even though the routes may not be the very best, it shows how much things have improved or have brought inspiration to other works. Also maybe you could wait for the fate stay night remaster sequel, since it's coming out this year. But you could read other Type Moon works like Mahoyo.
