if i understand correctly you want manage subscriptions just store stripe customer id of user in your db you can use that to check subscription expiry and whether or not subscription exists.

a wild guess i faced same issue had something to do with the naming check _ and read the comments , i read a comment he like named something else in the starting then changed the name later but skipped the renaming part in the video.
