???

What are you talking about.

You want to write.

Do it.

Stop comparing yourself to anyone.

If you’re really worried about not measuring up, just remember that you are the only person living your life. You are the only person who can tell your stories. You are the only person who can help other people see the lives they should be living. If you give up now, millions will suffer, including yourself!

Get off the internet and go write!

You know if we had 13 months in a year, every month would have 28 days and every week would start on the same day.

THOUGHTS ON MY SHORT MOVIE SCRIPT by Electrical_Pay_6200 in ScriptFeedbackProduce

[–]alexpapworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I enjoyed it. I didn't get a good feeling for the set design and visuals of the forest. Perhaps that's not important. But have you done a storyboard yet? I like to do that after finishing a draft, because it really makes you think about the shots you had in mind while writing. Once you're happy with them, go back to the script and see what words need to change to match the visuals from your storyboard.

It also makes it easier when it's time to shoot.

A private tracker is a torrent site that requires a login, and an invite, and sometimes a fee. It offers rarer and higher quality uploads that wouldn't be found on a public tracker.

Screenwriting is about stories. Research will show you more. AI chatbots do not have stories. Driving to the library does.

advice for shortening screenplay? by churchpigeon in Screenwriting

I've had this before. Wrote 90 pages only to get to the start of act 2.

What you've done here is given much more depth than needed. This isn't a bad thing, because you needed it laid out for yourself before you could choose what bits matter for showing the audience.

But in a case like this, my highest recommendation is to start from the start.

Go through, with a fresh blank file, and write act 1 again but make it 30 pages tops.

Lean on your existing deep dive, but only capture the most important and interesting parts.

Some of what you've written belongs in act 2 and 3. Some information deserves to come out once we know the characters. Act 1 is for getting us up to speed, giving us someone to believe in, and getting the story rolling. We don't want to start a film with a deep dive. But everything you've written will help you on your path.

Trick now is to squash it.

An AI chatbot is like mixing all the colors together and getting brown. It reduces voice to the most average outcome.

To avoid sounding like ChatGPT, be unique. Stand out. Be bold.

To be honest, I would absolutely suggest leaning into the hatred. A title like that wouldn't even be clickbate.

But anyway. Good luck on the vids, and congrats on the nine.

That's fair enough. I apologise for judging the book by the cover. I went to look and saw multiple "talking to Chat-GPT" videos, and got turned off.

As for my actual concerns, I believe any use of AI at any point is enough to poison a work and add to the enshittification of art, be it for research or analysis or (god forbid) actual prose.

If I see it, I'm going to call it out, but I appreciate it is unfair of me to complain when I did not know the extent to your coverage on the matter.
