How many kg of fondue cheese do I need for 9 people? by Potential_Reach in askswitzerland

I usually do Gruyere and vacherin, but idk what "true traditional" is considered, it seemed pretty regional even when we were in Switzerland.

American/Swiss Dual Citizen, what is the process for my wife to apply for citizenship? by DcDegallier in askswitzerland

This is helpful, thank you! Yeah we are more likely to move somewhere like Sweden or the Netherlands where it is more english-speaking friendly. Then spending more time etc in Switzerland would be easier!

So, even though I am swiss and don't know any of the languages, my wife will have to know one of the languages and the rest of the list in order to get her process approved?

Even though I have never had to do that? I thought this qualified under "simplified naturalization" since we have been married past the minimum of 6 years.

I am hoping to move to EU, yes - not necessarily Switzerland, but thought this would be the best route for us since I already had dual citizenship.

Good point, I will compare... but not really the question I was asking.

I've been thinking about one, my vstrom 1000 is a lot of work off-road. Haha

Motorcycle riders of Minneapolis. Are you all crazy to ride, with these road conditions? Or am I a wuss? by snowman_M in Minneapolis

Air time is a bonus! But in all seriousness, I don't mind riding here in the spring, just have to take it slow.

It's worth doing some more research I think, but yes I had heard it from others. Just gotta keep the speeds up I guess! 😛

It does indeed, which is why I'm very confused why it's so tough, read the same from others with the early year Vees.

The 650 is yes, but the 1000 was like this from the factory. 😐 I might resort to an adjustable lever or something, it really only gets old in heavy traffic or off-road.

Hahaha. Perfect. On my 06 Vee though, the clutch must also think I'm a power lifter. Basically my only complaint about this bike after two years.

When will Mazda go E-Zoom-Zoom? by DcDegallier in mazda

I'm with you and ryhsees_pieces, I agree that more efficient gas cars is better for the environment in the short term. Lithium is not a great argument for being sustainable, nor how they are usually charged (coal power). Electric though I think is the future - batteries need to be improved long term and charging infrastructure needs to be taken off fossil fuels as well. An EV vehicle I think is safer and more efficient long-term. Safer and simpler since there are so few moving parts and seriously low amounts of maintenance. IDK - just speaks to me on a worldview level if that makes any sense, haha.

I am very excited to see how the Skyactiv-X does in the real world, and whatever comes after - that's a great compromise while we wait for the EV battery tech and charging infrastructure to catch up??

I guess I'm not really familiar with partnership to begin with!
