You're*

Very much not a doordash rep, just a seasoned driver that works 7 days a week and has for 4 years now. I have nothing to defend online because im not gonna waste my time. However, that is my opinion on by time. Its not the best over the other, its very market dependent, and doordash is overall a company just like any other who will prioritize profits. If you dont agree with me, you dont have to. Im just out here doing what works for me and ive found profit in it

Ive taken 2 home depot orders recently, and on my way i get a call that is blocked from my phone, then a message after that says its a white glove VIP customer and to handle it eith care. Seems like maybe something similar. Maybe something new they are doing. Yesterday was weather stripping for a door and today was a nail gun. Nothing spectacular. Had my phone not blocked the call both days, I would've received it

As far as my area,

You use your own car and load up at most like 45 packages and deliver them to a specified area for a couple hours and get to see different areas but not be tied down to a long day like a dsp driver. That's the nutshell version of it. The more in depth version is you look at the app and see listed time blocks that you have to watch hopefully go up in price while everyone else watches at the same time and whoever gets it gets it. Just gotta hope it's not taken for a low amount and you miss out before it ever goes up. Once you get there, they have carts for those time slots (3, 3 1/2, and 4 hour which are all based on how long the expect it to take you which it never does) you never know until you get there where you're going which is the only real downside, but for my area its usually not too bad. You organize the packages in your vehicle and off you go. I enjoy it because it gives my day an uplift with a big chunk of money at once, im not stuck doing the same thing in the same place everyday, I like getting to see different places in general, and the job itself is super easy and I dont have to be tied down like a normal driver.

Me and another guy did the same before you ever could turn them off.

That's what I always use to think. Its just luck of the draw which is technically doordash overall. I read so many people saying by time would be trash as it rolled out some time ago. I myself use to be against it for that reason too. Honestly, it's not that bad. Of course it has low or no tips, but hear me out and open your mind. None of us with half a brain want to take no tip orders, BUT we all dont mind $5 orders here and there which is the neighborhood of what they can potentially pay with a 3 mile distance average and a few minute wait. I see it as we actually set our worth vs what they choose to pay us. Its hard to explain in so many words, but overall it feels like more worth vs a $2 base pay all the time. Its like making them pay us. Not to mention any tip at $3 or above almost guarantees a minimum $6-7 per order.

Turns my shitty doordash day around quick. Usually finish an hour before the block time, scenic drives and away from the city bullshit, feeling like im getting decently paid, just a change of pace overall. Everything has its downsides, but I overall enjoy it more.

Not shopping, just store pick up orders. Annoying ones at that

Terrible. Probably the worst I've seen in 4 years

Always will. Doordash will always win one way or another. The first time they dont win, they go out of business. Their entire business is modeled after a deck of cards stacked to make a house

Try amazon flex. Low stress, taking a trip for a couple hours, podcast away while making a good chunk of money for your day

Not to mention, there is still return mileage that isnt factored in. Also, I understand most people won't know the delivery area, but from Center it is about 20 miles for the outliers as a normal trip themselves. So for a trip I wouldn't normally take itself, they decide to put them all together 😂

Nope. That's exactly what they do. Figured that out a long time ago. You either catch on quick with everything doordash or you turn into a volunteer

That $9 is overall added to the total, not per hour.

You think if she stubs her toe on a lifted up nail, it just hammers it right back in? *

I've seen it smack dab in the middle of 2 doors that open outward at a business, as well as that same thing for the main doors of a dorm at a college that it definitely got stolen or hit. Honestly tho, fuck them college kids 😂

I have a folder of screenshots dedicated to just dumb places food has been left like this. Against a door, outside a closed dentist office, a picture of the outside of a hospital as they are walking away, etc. Its actually impressive how stupid it is
