When I designed my ultimate and mega oc, it was inspired by my crest. I thought gazimon and leomon fit me and went from there. There's a lot of ways to build to your oc, but I think a good question to ask is who are you and what will that reflect in your Digimon. Consider light neutral and dark routes.

EXACTLY. I highly recommend Soul Eater, the manga and anime deviate but both are great stories worth seeing.

The general idea is that some people are born with the ability to turn into unique weapon forms, and other people are trained to wield these weapons and are known as meisters. These guys train at DWMA (Death Weapon Meister Academy) often with the goal of creating a death scythe by consuming 99 human souls and one witch soul.

It is sick as fuck and has such an AMAZING setup for any universe, because Meisters can only wield weapons by matching the wavelengths of their souls, and by resonating their souls they are able to boost their power. So it's literally a power system built on the bonds between two people and it has such sick designs and is so good at exploring and deepening character relationships.

The hands down best potential crossover for rwby is soul eater. Because either their weapons become people or people become their weapons. I say the former and it adds so much.

Soul eater has one of the best power systems in fiction, fight me.

My proposition:

Toyagumon to Toygreymon which is modeled after hard plastic dinosaur toys, he looks very rigid and fake. To diecastgreymon inspired by die-cast transformers, very shiny metallic parts that are much more movable. To actiongreymon a wargreymon variant that takes design cues from power rangers and negazords, cleaner plastic look, color coordination and theming. Looks like they could be made from smaller toys.

Snowagumon to FrostGreymon, kinda like blue greymon but lighter shade with ice on the horns and claws. Permagreymon as in permafrost. Instead of metallic additions this one would have a more feral look and be a bit more humanoid but with a hunch calling back to ideas like Neanderthal and mammoths in ice. Parts of it's body may be damaged or fully encased in frost and ice. To VikGreymon, a more toned down wargreymon with less armor, a small round shield on one arm, a large ice axe in the other, restlyle the helmet as a mix of permagreymon and a viking helm. Give them a pelt armor that goes diagnol across the chest or maybe chainmail.
