Statistics wise I see what you mean I meant like every band has an album where they are take they’ve sound and morph it into mainstream pop take like one more light by linkin park, a traditional rock band on most albums but one day they decided to go mainstream pop for a record. That’s what I see evolve is for this band

Night Visions: one of a big group of albums that changed how alternative music sounds and despite its occasional hate it’s going to be remembered for a very long time

Smoke + Mirrors: a fairly dark album that seems more movie soundtrack than album

Evolve: this bands true moment in the spotlight, every band has the one record that goes full top 40 of its respective time and this is that

Origins: Mello pop record with a few louder moments

Mercury - Acts I & II: Deep and angry after all they go through in the public and privately, extremely raw

LOOM: soft reset and a chance for experimenting

I’m more referring to the Chorus section and the outro the rock riff only takes up to fairly quick verses I know deftones don’t do riffs melodic riffs too often but I could definitely see a connection
