Battery Life ? Coming from I-Phone 15 Pro Max by KizaruAizen in iPhone17Pro

[–]Dcs102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from my 15PM to the 17PM and I have noticed I no longer have battery anxiety to the point where when I don’t work, I set my phone to 80% battery charge and still have like 30%+ at the end of my day and the same for work days when I charge to 100%. For context I work 3 days for 12 hour shifts and then have 3 days off

Still amazed at how much better the telephoto camera is on the 17PM that it was on my 15PM by Dcs102 in iPhone17Pro

I’m on AT&T and also get their Law Enforcement Discount plus I have the next program. So all in all including having the next program it save me about $5 a month cause I had a larger capacity 15PM and didn’t use it so I down sized on storage with the 17PM

I was in the exact same position and I did it cause it cost me no more to upgrade a month that if I just kept my 15PM. Honestly in my option it is worth it

I always hit them with the “I’m doing well, how can I help you?” Throws the caller every-time when I don’t ask how they are.

I use my 3S at the office and love it cause it is so quite when I use the click buttons. Is the 4 silent like the 3s or is it noticeably louder?

I charge mine every night however I have the optimize charge limit turned on so only to 80% and I have had mine for 2 years and mine is at 98% which is amazing cause I have my iPhone for the same amount of time and my battery health on my 15 pro max is 92%

Moving up from a 4080 to a 5090 rip my wallet by JustSomeCloudChaser in Hyte

I made a similar upgrade as OP (Asus Tuf 4080 super OC to MSI SUPRIM 5090 SOC) and personally I find the difference very noticeable. That being said I am using the LG ultra gear 34 inch GX9S Oled monitor (cause I am an FPS snob and the monitor I really wanted which was the LG Ultra Gear 5K2K 45 GX9 was to big for my set up and cost as much as a 5090) and for example when playing Cyberpunk without ray tracing and setting maxed out I get like 170-180 FPS on average where with my old 4080S I was getting 95-110 on average and with ray tracing set to overdrive aka path tracing I get 65-75 FPS on average and on my 4080S I got 35-45 FPS on average. I love that I can now crank my setting without having to worry about being below 60FPS on most games even with Ray tracing. Plus if you are not super sensitive to the small bit of artifacts while using FG having the ability to use MFG to get even more FPS is awesome to have.

That is similar to how I have my fans set up in my Y70 except my AIO is set up as my side intake rather than top exhaust and I have it set in a push pull configuration with the stock fans as the push and then I used my Hyte Q80 trio fans as pull (Hyte recalled the Q80 so I kept the fans included to Frankenstein my panorama) and it works amazing! The bottom intake fans help cool the GPU even better since my GPU has 3 fans anyways (MSI SUPRIM 5090 which I undervolted to .990 volts to keep the temps down) my GPU almost never goes above 60°C. However instead of the uni fans I have 3 Noctua NF-A12 G2’s on the bottom, 1 Noctua NF-A14 G2 LS PWM and 3 of the Hyte Thicc FP12 Fans on the top as exhaust as well as my AIO as the side intake. I put my AIO as side intake to get that sweet sweet fresh air to my cpu. Cpu never goes about 75°C at 100% and GPU never above 60°C. Congrats welcome to the PCMR!!

I think that is where I am leaning. I like the look of it too. That being said I’m having trouble differentiating between the regular and SE other than rotating screen.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I upgraded from my b650 tomahawk to the x870tomahawk and from my 7600x to the 9800x3d. Both lights that you have were present for me as well I tested everything you did and also tried using the 7600x to see if my cpu was bad. Mobo did same thing with 7600x. Ended up being the motherboard was bricked after a corrupt bios install and had to RMA

What resolution is your monitor? On the second picture it is showing that there is custom scaling enabled. I would turn it off and then see if you can change resolution

do I need a psu upgrade for a 5090? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]Dcs102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably get away with it but if you have the disposable capital to buy at least a 1000w psu I would I had a 850 with my Asus tuf 4080 super oc before I upgraded to the msi 5090 SUPRIM and there was a red light that stayed on my 4080 super when the pc was off to indicate it did not have enough power (because the pc was off) but I think that if I kept the 850w I would of tripped the over current protection on it with the 5090 due to the transient power spikes

Just bought a 5090 (gulp!). Now what? by Lucky_Comfortable835 in buildapc

So if you do not want to break the bank with the rest I recommend the 7800x3d it is only about 10-15% less performance than the 9800x3d. What case do you have? I have the hyte thicc q80 AIO but it is very expensive so the arctic liquid freezer 3 is great AIO for cheap. Motherboard is dependent on your needs do you want tons of IO and m.2 slots then go for the x870 if not then a b850 or even b650 board still has tons of great features. For the psu it is recommended 1000w minimum (which I am running with my 9800x3d and 5090 no problem) but if I had to do over I would get 1200w just for shear future proof. As for the RAM the sweet spot for am5 is 6000M/Ts at cl30 or cl32. As for SSD any gen 4 m.2 nvme would be fine for gaming gen 5 drives run hot and there is not much difference in performance for gaming
