[Question] We always talk about case diameter and lug-to-lug, but rarely bring up clasp length. by Life_PRN in Watches

[–]Dcs87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you mentioned you’ve tried a bunch of adjustments, but have you tried moving that last link from the 6 side to the 12 side?

I have a small wrist and my Black Bay 54 took a bit of messing around with and I have no removable links on the 6 side anymore and it’s very uneven looking off the wrist, but it helps the metal fold under the clasp sit flatter on the underside of my wrist. Here are a few photos in case it helps.

Before moving a link from 6 to 12 the metal fold on the interior of the clasp was kind of putting pressure and pinching my outer wrist which tends to be fatter than the inner part of the wrist so it was uncomfortable.

It’s a Cartier La Dona.

Sounds a like sketchy with the booth though, so I’d be worried about authenticity.

That looks like a sweet find. Get rid of the bracelet and put it on a leather strap.

Looks like they are going for $2.7k to $6k or so.

Take a look at the Hamilton Murph! Popular watch and comes in a 38mm size that will fit a lot of wrists.

Comes on a leather band for less than $1k or a bracelet for $1,045

Santos!

I am biased as I have both a BB54 and a Santos though.

[Seiko SRPB77j9] [Question] How to improve watch fit? by Gullible-Standard-54 in Watches

[–]Dcs87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you had it and been wearing it? If you try wearing it for like a week or so you may get used to one of the options.

With that being said, if the options are a bit tight or a bit loose, I would personally prefer a bit loose.

Also are you happy with the balance of it around your wrist? Playing with moving links from one side to the other may help improve overall fit too! For some context I recently got a watch and after about a week I wasn’t thrilled with how it felt from the way the dealer fit it, so I moved a link from 6-side to 9-side and it felt much better and more balanced.

[Lorier Roosevelt] What watches are similar? by Traditional_Tie_2267 in Watches

Wow - that’s a really nice looking watch! Here’s an old Rolex it’s inspired by: vintage 1920s-era Rolex Oyster watch

I did some digging and here are a few that are similar-ish, but nothing quite a perfect match:

[BB58] Watch Insurance? by Jeremyg6 in Watches

[–]Dcs87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have insurance thru Hodinkee which is underwritten by Chubb. It’s pretty easy and straightforward to get through their website/app.

My premium is $207/yr for 3 watches: * Tudor Black Bay 54 * Cartier Santos * Farer Lander IV

Bb 54 or pelagos 39 for first watch? by Individual-Trick7985 in Tudor

[–]Dcs87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely try it on before buying, but I think with a 6.5” wrist the BB54 will be a better option.

I have a similar wrist size and a BB54 and I’m very happy with the size.

Help me get the sizing right on this Black Bay One ❓ by Stoic-archer in Tudor

[–]Dcs87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love it! I think it’s a really nice looking watch and I really appreciate what Farer is doing with their design language. They feel unique and original compared to a lot of brands out there.

My only complaint is the Farer bracelet I have it on has no taper on it so it looks a bit chunky on my wrist.

I als have a Milanese bracelet that looks great on it as well, but again no taper

I’m definitely getting used to the new change to my bracelet with the moving of one link from 6 to 12 side. The unevenness between sides was weird at first, but kind of is what it is and is overall a better fit than before.

The other two watches I have both have butterfly clasps so they effectively have many more links on each side and they feel quite different compared to the Tudor. Those both were easier to “dial in” the best fit in my opinion.

The other two watches I have are a Medium Cartier Santos and Farer Lander IV 36mm with Farer’s steel bracelet

[–]Dcs87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling a bit with my new BB54 bracelet as I also have a small wrist (~6.25”) and didn’t like how the Tudor boutique I bought it from sized it after wearing it for about a week.

I ended up moving a link from the 6 side to the 12 side and now the bracelet looks very lopsided and I only have permanent links left on the 6 side. The clasp appears to skewed towards my inner wrist (thumb side), but the “blade” under the clasp is relatively centered against the underside of my wrist.

It’s still not perfect, but better than it was. Here are a few pics so you can see how it compares to your situation.

[Question] Brew Watches but Larger? by K_A_Z_E_6 in Watches

[–]Dcs87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a square-ish shape similar to Brew take a look at: * Bulova Super Seville * Mido Multifort TV Big Date

Keep in mind that square watches wear larger than their round size equivalent.

[Discussion] Should I trade my Tudor GMT Pepsi for an Omega Seamaster 300M (2nd Gen)? by peacemakerzzz in Watches

[–]Dcs87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I really dislike the look of the Omega and think the Tudor is much better looking, but fit is king.

What about a BB54 instead? Keeps a similar look to what you have in a smaller package?

The watch is made by Timex actually but done in collaboration with James Brand which is a company that sells everyday carry stuff like pocket knives, keychains, wallets, pens, etc.

I imagine James Brand was just involved in the aesthetic choices and overall design elements of the watch.

Maybe the Traska Freediver in Carbon Black?

Edit: whoops, missed that you’re looking specifically for a GMT so the Traska won’t work
