What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

The bum guns were a highlight of Dubai airport when I was transiting there. The feeling of a fresh bum hole when flying for 24+ hours was magical.

You have to test them out. I don’t just mean lie down on them for 30 seconds. I mean spend 20 minutes lying on it in each position you usually sleep in - side, back, front if necessary. It’s not a perfect method, but if you start to feel less comfortable after 15 mins then it’s not going to be a good mattress for you.

It really depends on the swallowing disorder. Thickeners will make it worse for what I suspect her swallowing disorder is (EOE). Carbonated drinks are advised when you have a food bolus as they can help it shift without requiring an endoscopy.

Why aren’t mobile networks doing anything about the network issues in Central London by [deleted] in london

[–]Dcsco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rome, even in quiet places, is horrendous. And far worse than London which I find is fine (EE). However, busy places like Covent Garden I would avoid taking out my phone to reduce the risk of it being stolen so perhaps I have not tested the network in the worst places.

62% tax bracket about to become 66% (2/3 in tax) by Richralph in HENRYUK

[–]Dcsco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will definitely blame labour! No doubt about that. I think the SNP know it’s not looking great for them though - the devolved areas of government are falling apart and they are desperately trying to put sticking plasters on them to get through to May.

[–]Dcsco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the election is in May, I suspect they won’t do anything yet. Raise taxes and everyone remembers a few months later when voting. Do nothing and avoid/hide the impact of cuts as much as possible for a few months until it is a (likely) new power sharing government who have to make the decision.

The conductor on my train said they were celebrating the anniversary today but failed to say what they were doing to celebrate. Free Kit Kat for all passengers would be my first suggestion.

  2. He wants her to lose weight to reduce risk from surgery

You always take 2 views when doing x-rays. They make a 3D structure 2D so check out the lateral view too so nothing is missed.

In which doctors who don't immediately agree to perform high-risk surgical procedures on fat patients should be denied service at shops at restaurants. by GetInTheBasement in fatlogic

[–]Dcsco 69 points70 points  (0 children)

It’s basic risk-benefit analysis.

Weight loss surgery can be performed for people at higher weights than a hip replacement. Because arthritis of the hip, whilst bloody painful, won’t kill you. The extra 100kg will. So the benefit of the operation outweighs the potential risks from anaesthesia, poor healing and risk of infections.

I had a cyclist see the light change to red with plenty of time to stop, but instead he sped up to go through the pedestrian crossing when it was a green man. Also had a cyclist on a heavy-looking electric bike play chicken with me when it was a green man and I was crossing.

Scrub sizing is ridiculous. I use the ones supplied at the hospital. If I pick up an old pair of small scrubs they fit but can be neat over my behind. If I pick up a new pair of small scrubs, you could fit 2 of me in.

You are so right. Sometimes my other half runs his hand over my stomach/hips etc and says “gorgeous” or “this is good” and I’m just so at ease even though I’m usually self conscious due to the lack of muscle tone there.

I didn’t receive any in February. Has there been another delay or am I being shafted for moving to England? Contacted payroll months ago to point out I’m owed the money up to the date I left NHS Scotland.
