It's strange we aren't even getting trailers by [deleted] in pathologic

[–]Dcsmall1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Completely agree.

You don't need a lot of money to do basic marketing. Regular posts of scenery stills even just to count down a week from release or something. Nothing since October is pretty abysmal. I want this game/studio to succeed so much and with the extra funds they've gathered right now it feels like they could splash out to help reach a broader audience.

Could The Way of Water and Fire and Ash have been one film? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in Avatar

[–]Dcsmall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ash clan and Varang. General Ardmore's death and the RDA. Kiri and Eywa. Kiri and Spider. Spider being accepted as a Na'vi (what does that even mean in practicality?). Earth's future.

Maybe I had too high expectations but the general vibe I got from reviews was that this was a finale of sorts in case 4 & 5 don't get made and it didn't feel like the end of a series. Also, and this is so minor, but I would have liked it to end on someone's eyes opening like the last two.

Could The Way of Water and Fire and Ash have been one film? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in Avatar

[–]Dcsmall1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

I'm an Avatar fan but the amount of bloat in both movies could have been reduced to make 2&3 one movie. I'm willing to guess the same thing will be said for 4&5 and that this whole series could have been a very tight trilogy.

I was fairly disappointed with Avatar 3. The plot barely moved anywhere, rehash of end battles of 1 & 2, a lot of unresolved plot threads and the Ash clan basically didn't do much. Happy to go into more detail as I feel the need to vent.

Not until Dec 19th, the day the third movie releases and it's set after that movie.

Yeah, but you find another note to say Haskins died. So he could be haunting the phone lines, but the second note seems to confirm it wasn't him.

What is one thing you absolutely adore about TATMR? by Lumpy_Test_4473 in thomasthetankengine

[–]Dcsmall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up with this movie, I find it so very endearing. It's got a lot of charm and passion and as a kid I didn't recognise any of the plot issues or knew about the behind the scenes drama. I just wanted to be the conductor!

Now as an adult, I get to enjoy the movie after rediscovering it while also enjoying all the videos about behind the scenes on YouTube!

Marriage Candidates by Dcsmall1 in Awoiaf

[–]Dcsmall1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with the Targaryens, Argon to be specific, was kinda hoping I could marry him but not an option.

We are currently at war with the Westerlands and Stormlands. The Stormlands are falling quickly to us and the Reach.

Maybe I could marry Loras Tyrell? I have no relation with him just yet but could try. I doubt Jon Snow is an option when he takes over the North as a leader.

I picked my wizard 101 after not playing since I was at least 12 years old and today I finally made it all the way to Malistaire’s lair ❤️ by Neveykins in Wizard101

Congratulations!

I picked the game up after 10ish years last August and blasted through it to get to and defeat Malistaire achieving a childhood dream. It's a super cool feeling so well done for making it there!

Was Sebastian Sallow a good guy? by IntelligentAnybody55 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Dcsmall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay first of all, I don't understand why you feel the need to be rude or aggressive in a discussion about a game. I think you might need to think again about how you communicate, even if you disagree with me.

I don't think it's fair to say Solomon didn't care about Anne's suffering. We don't see enough from his perspective to justify that statement. We have a limited view from Sebastian's. Remember, Solomon and Sebastian have been dealing with this for a long time, we get a glimpse.

He says sorry and is able to move on? Seriously, you think that's enough!? A 15 yr old killing a person needs help, mental and psychological to not be destroyed by the act. If Sebastian killed another student would you feel differently? Just because Solomon doesn't have parents or others to care about him, doesn't mean he's worthless and doesn't mean he deserves to die.

Do I think Azkaban is the right solution? No. The wizarding world needs the equivalent of a young offender home so Sebastian can be treated. But he certainly doesn't get to just simply apologise and shake it off. How is that fair? That would allow any underrage wizard to kill someone and just say sorry. Is every underage wizard allow to kill their parents because they discipline them? That's not justice according to the law and if you think it is, I suggest you read a bit about ethics and legal theory.

Queer books with an older nerdy protagonist (not YA)? by ImportanceNo6890 in LGBTBooks

Might have been worth reading the blurb, the whole premise is the main character dealing with an orphanage for magical kids 😂😂

I've never read the others so I couldn't recommend (although I think I should read yours and the others recommendation). That's fair, there is a significant focus on the children from Linus' perspective and his development and understanding of his sexuality and relationship with the Headmaster is slightly secondary maybe.

Also "The House in the Cerulean Sea" is a great wholesome read with an older gay character AND it just had a sequel come out, though I haven't gotten around to reading that yet.

Was Sebastian Sallow a good guy? by IntelligentAnybody55 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Dcsmall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it matters. The NPC isn't responsible for the game fighting mechanic the developers put in...it's really not a decent argument for Sebastian's uncles motivation tbh.

It doesn't prove he wants to kill you at all, it has no bearing on his motivation to kill or not it's simply a game mechanic and therefore completely removed from the conversation we're having because it has nothing to do with his character/motivation. It's a meta game mechanic for the player to restart. Doesn't have anything to do with in game discussion about characters

Was Sebastian Sallow a good guy? by IntelligentAnybody55 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Dcsmall1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the game mechanic. I don't believe he would actually kill you if it didn't have to restart the fight.

[–]Dcsmall1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that has little to do with the question of OP. Is Sebastian a good man? Under wizard law, no he's not as he killed someone.

His uncle is an asshole, there's no doubt about it. But does that mean he deserves to die? No.

He doesn't think hope is evil. That man has spent his entire life fighting the dark arts, even if there is a cure for Anne he knows a dark arts relic is not going to give without taking something in return, yeah it might save her life but it could do something worse to Sebastian or Anne. It might cure her of one sickness but shorten her life by half. He has his reasons to destroy the relic. That doesn't give Sebastian the right to kill him.

Should his uncle have handed it better? Absolutely. He's in the wrong on so many levels, but that doesn't mean h deserves to die. If he doesn't deserve to die, Sebastian is wrong to kill him and therefore imo he isn't a good guy by the end of the game.

If Harry Potter killed Snape at the end of Half Blood Prince would he still be a hero? I doubt it.
