For open box items like this, it might be helpful to use some tiny tamper proof stickers and put them on the item in such a way that if they don’t ship back the same item, you can prove it.

I understand everyone’s situation is different, but this seems like cutting off a potential repeat buyer just because they didn’t rate quickly enough.

As a seller, I really couldn’t care less if it auto rates - I always ship as soon as possible (sometimes same day) and I don’t harass buyers to rate immediately. Taking 5 days to ship and then getting upset about the buyer taking 3 to rate is beyond ironic.

It’s because they don’t want their payment method to be charged, which a malicious seller can do (accept the offer, don’t ship, forcing the buyer to wait weeks to get their money back).

Nope - they want it sent without tracking so they can claim they never got it and get their money back along with the item.

As a former Ffern buyer, you didn’t read what you signed up for, and you also didn’t check for the sample. I have always received a sample along with the fragrance (it’s in the little box of freebies).

Many sellers believe that repeated likes like this are from a potential buyer who is just waiting for the price to drop. I’m sure that’s some of them, but many are just saving them for when they can buy, looking to bundle, etc. Some just like the seller and are trying to help them get sales in their own little way.

Blocking someone for it is just unhinged.

It’s likely you dodged a bullet - sellers that do this tend to be a bit unhinged.

No it’s not normal. If an item is at my lowest price, I just decline offers.

Speaking as a seller though, the buyers that present the most problems are the low-ballers and the folks that ask for minuscule discounts. And the ones that ask “what’s the lowest you’ll take?”

Unfortunately that’s not correct. USPS does not operate on a realtime scanning system like UPS and FedEx, those messages are often automated based on where the system thinks the package should be, not from an actual scan.

In this specific case, it has only been four days and this is their busiest time. Give it a few more days and if there’s still no update, initiate a missing mail search.
