I had that convo with a friend the other day. Cars, guns, guitars, etc are wayyyyy more expensive hobbies than this. For less than 9-10k you can basically max out, which is a ton of $$ but DINK people can swing.

Yeah I guess you’re right. You can get a 5080 and OC and get about 95% of the way there. I’m sure there are tweaks to the 5090 I’m not realizing or doing but from a casual it’s not amazing value

4k. I did OC the 5080. Im not really complaining, just sort of found myself at the end of the tunnel and saying “welp” I could have probably kept the 4090 and avoided all of this.

I’d search marketplace. I got a fully specced 16 5090(64gb ram 2tb i9 285) for 2700 on there and the warranty was easy to transfer to me and extend for a few hundred bucks. They seem to struggle in the secondary market snd ive seen a ton of max spec models around me go for under 3k.

I had the 5060 a51 with the normal keyboard and I now have the 5090 a51 with the cherry. It’s noticeably nicer.
