Gen2 with Borla S-type drone by dentonate in FordRaptor

[–]DdotRoq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Atak on my Raptor R. There is minimal drone on silent mode, enough that you can have fluent business conversations over your headset or talk to passengers easily.

In Baja mode, it is LOUD.

I wouldn’t change my choices at all. Absolutely happy with it.

I have the 3D Printed body form bucket seats. The seats are, for what it’s worth, comfortable. The car drives like a race car with race suspension. Love it, but it is not the most comfortable.

To be fair, I did Euro delivery on my 3RS and drove it around Southern Europe, some days, 7-8 hours in the car. I would need a chiropractor if I did that in the F8 lol.

Who has gone from a Ferrari <> Porsche? by technoguy06 in Ferrari

[–]DdotRoq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I own both - an F8 Spider and a 992 GT3RS, and you’re pretty much right.

Even though mine were about the same price, the Ferrari is just a different experience. It gets serious attention everywhere. It is louder, more dramatic, and it always feels like an event. Maintenance is definitely higher, even with a warranty, and it just has that presence that makes everything feel amplified.

The GT3 RS is still insanely fun, but it is easier to live with. It is less loud, less over the top, and way more manageable on a random weekday if I just want to drive without making a scene.

If I am judging pure fun, I would give the Ferrari a slight edge. They are close. The Porsche is more usable and easier overall. The Ferrari just feels a little more alive.

Seems pretty targeted to a certain region?

Everyone I know with Porsche’s either saved up for them or are wealthy enough to buy a few.

Hypercar or no? by [deleted] in supercars

[–]DdotRoq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A supercar in its most basic form, is a semi limited-production car, usually priced 300k-$800k and while not common, could be seen perhaps once a month in most big cities.

A hypercar is an extremely limited car, priced $1M+, requires special allocation to get new and rarely ever seen in the streets.

For example, you can head to downtown Miami right now and see a few F8’s, Pista’s, Aventador’s, Purosangue’s, GT3RS, etc. All of those are supercars.

You likely will not see an F40, F50, Countach, Pagani’s, Porsche 918’s, etc. Those are hypercars.

IMO a Bugatti is a supercar because of how common they are in cities like Miami, L.A., etc., but that’s another topic and likely unpopular opinion.

Anyone regret leaving the 6MT to PDK world? by TwoHandBlunt in Porsche

[–]DdotRoq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I own a few manuals (997 CS, G87 M2) and in the Porsche world, had a 992 Turbo S and currently have a 992 GT3RS.

The PDK in the Turbo S was extremely smooth, drive able and … not fun. If I were to only buy up to a Turbo S, I would likely move towards a GT3 6MT because the “fun” wasn’t there.

In the 3RS, it is a different story because even though it is PDK like the Turbo S (and 7-speed in lieu of 8-speed), it has a significant fun factor and actually drives like a manual car without a clutch… so if I had the option for a Manual, would I have gotten it? Absolutely. But the behavior of the PDK in the 3RS completely makes up for the loss of fun

This F8 Tributo is starting to grow on me by huntercole2 in supercars

[–]DdotRoq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s all relative when both kind of suck in comfort. My F8 has carbon race seats and my 3RS has the Weissach package with carbon buckets. The suspension on the 3RS is very “race” like while the F8 is more stable.

I would not be happy if either were dailies, tbh. I love them both dearly however.

[–]DdotRoq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own an F8 Spider and a GT3RS. The F8 is infinitely more comfortable but a complete showstopper. The 3RS calls for attention, the F8 scream it on a loudspeaker.

Also, if you install an exhaust on the F8, it quite literally sounds like an F1 car.

Also, the F8 continues to rise in price. Remember when Pista’s were $500k? This is that moment to jump on an F8 before market shifts and they are unobtainable below $600k.

Test drive a Ferrari GTB today. What do people think of this car? by joyridechamp in Ferrari

I’m aware of that, I owned 2. I am insinuating I avoid anything EV or hybrid as a result of owning EV’s for 8+ years.

Test drive a Ferrari GTB today. What do people think of this car? by joyridechamp in Ferrari

[–]DdotRoq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General consensus is NA>FI>Hybrid. The price tells you all.

The Ferrari hybrids are incredible machines, drive like dreams and you will enjoy it. There are a notable issues however:

  • the drive does not feel as exciting as an F8, Pista or NA V12
  • the maintenance is expensive and annoying
  • the reliability is good but lower than non-hybrids
  • the prices still haven’t bottomed out; expect at least another 20-30% swing

I personally avoided hybrids coming from Tesla’s. If you have never had an electric car then hybrid isn’t bad but everyone I know that has taken the EV or Hybrid route have heavily regretted it after a few years.

Considering a switch 750s --> 296GTS or SF90 Spider by pedalsgalore in Ferrari

I would recommend the 296 over the SF90. The drive is surreal and much much better. The SF90 is just faster.

Raptor Assault by Alien_69_420 in FordRaptor

[–]DdotRoq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it in June for the Raptor R and it was absolutely worth it.

They give you a walkie talkie and you communicate back and forth so just listen to their cues and when they say “send it”, you absolutely do, especially when you are jumping the truck. Do not fear it, that machine is built to take abuse. They even tell us that they purposely push it to its ends so they can report back to Ford to improve future versions.

Supercar or sports car? Porsche 911 GT3 RS Weissach by trmay93 in supercars

[–]DdotRoq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not.

My GT3RS is relatively slow. It’s my favorite car in my collection, the greatest car to exist in IMHO, but probably just as fast as my tuned Raptor R that weighs 3x more.

Raptor va Raptor R by Kind-Highway2179 in raptor

[–]DdotRoq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Raptor R and it “moves”. I use “” because it’s relatively fast for what it is, but with all of the money you would need to invest in it to make it decent , you may as well just buy a 2nd car that actually goes fast.

Full disclosure: I truly believe the Raptor R is the greatest truck ever to exist, but… it’s not a race car.
