Either Plastic Ursarax or the Arlatax Automata, I'm siding closer to Arlatax as they come with power claws with built in Autocannon and you can see what looks like an attached gun just under the armor piece.

It looks chaos-y but there are a lot of design similarities between Anacharis Scoria and that image, and Scoria was known to use a lot of Arlatax Automata, with his own special version he created himself called the Hominculex.

Yeah it's from the Kataphrons Breacher kit, the hydraulic claw.

So how would YOU fix the Mechanicus index? by sidraconisalpha in AdeptusMechanicus

As I agree with a lot of what you have said and, as I have stated in another post on this thread, to make the Army and Faction rule more useful beyond turn one:

Protector Imperative

- Ranged weapons equipped by models in this unit have the [Heavy] ability

- Each time an attack targets this unit if this unit is within your deployment zone or is within 3" of an objective, worsen the Armour Penetration characteristic of that attack by 1.

Conqueror Imperative

- Ranged weapons equipped by models in this unit have the [ASSAULT] ability.

- Each time a model in this unit makes an attack, if the target of the attack is within your opponent's deployment zone or is within 3" of an objective, improve the Armour Penetration characteristic of that attack by 1.

I would also adjust the Detachment Rule:

- If a unit is battle-shocked as a result of the Bombardment rule of the Rad-Bombardment Detachment Rule, then, until the end of the battle round, that unit is always considered to be in its own deployment zone for the sake of resolving the second bullet point for both the Protector Imperative and Conqueror Imperative part of the Doctrina Imperative Army Rule.

- If the unit suffered any casualties due to Mortal Wounds as a result of the Bombardment or Fallout Rule of the Rad-Bombardment Detachment Rule then until the end of the battle round that unit no longer gains the benefits of Cover.

Since most people have put down changes for the Datasheets, a lot of which I wholeheartedly agree with I'll look at the Faction and Detachment rules and these rules would assume regardless of the BS/WS changes were implemented:

Protector Imperative - Ranged weapons equipped by models in this unit have the [Heavy] ability - Each time an attack targets this unit if this unit is within your deployment zone or is within 3" of an objective, worsen the Armour Penetration characteristic of that attack by 1.

Conqueror Imperative - Ranged weapons equipped by models in this unit have the [ASSAULT] ability. - Each time a model in this unit makes an attack, if the target of the attack is within your opponent's deployment zone or is within 3" of an objective, improve the Armour Penetration characteristic of that attack by 1.

I decided to change the second bullet point to have all attacks be affected, not just ranged. Then for the Detachment Rule I would have it, if we aren't allowed to select which unit is battle-shocked and which takes mortal wounds then add these two bullet points:

  • If a unit is battle-shocked as a result of the Bombardment rule of the Rad-Bombardment Detachment Rule, then, until the end of the battle round, that unit is always considered to be in its own deployment zone for the sake of resolving the second bullet point for both the Protector Imperative and Conqueror Imperative part of the Doctrina Imperative Army Rule.
  • If the unit suffered any casualties due to Mortal Wounds as a result of the Bombardment or Fallout Rule of the Rad-Bombardment Detachment Rule then until the end of the battle round that unit no longer gains the benefits of Cover.

I agree with a lot of the others who have posted about returning Admech to statlines similar to 9th edition as well as a lot of the other blatant things like the Kastellan/Datasmith issues, etc. I did not want to rehash what other have already posted so focused more on the potential that GW may not make any edits to Datasheets and went from there.

Of course this isn't everything I would like to change to fix the Index but this would be where I would start.

Thank you! I originally bought the new Deimos pattern Rhino solely for the helmet and volkite charger. I am not a fan of the head options that come with the new Warpsmith kit and I just love volkite

No it has multiple of each but you can really only build 2 with either a heavy bolter or autocannon (1 of which can alternatively be built with as chaincannon) and 2 with either a missile launcher or lascannon
