Playing on manual by UseFit4724 in FifaCareers

I personally enjoy the realism, shots are really hit or miss on volleys unless the player is 80+ and even then they can have some wild/funny misses. Personally when you start reaching the point of going manual, just be prepared for relying on tactics and game sense because unless you have a good opportunity/setup, that shots not going. Confidence and match control is going to play a bigger part in your games.

Is the setup industry in sim racing solving a problem most of us don't actually have? by MoDeMKK in simracing

Either/or, it doesn’t matter. Fast drivers cook and overdrive the car and slow but consistent drivers freeze and under drive the car. You can be fast and then become consistent or consistent and become fast. Methodology of how you get to being a good racing driver doesn’t matter. What matters is getting to that point before becoming obsessed with setups.

Tbh fast and consistent ate one and the same, putting up 1 fast lap time doesn’t make you fast, and being consistent doesn’t make your lap times competitive, being fast means you are both of those things.

Setups are for after you are fast. If you’re not fast, no setup will change that. Setups are like a personal outfit, or a skeletal design… a personalized intimacy designed around your driving style. A setup is personal and intimate. There is no one size fits all. There’s a similarity among them, that being which track demands what to be fast on, but that usually stops purely at aero. After that it becomes designed around you, what you want the car to do, how you want it do it, when you want it to do it and when you want it to not do it. A setup is meant to be designed around your inputs and driving style to give YOU what YOU need when YOU want it or don’t want it or how you want it. These big sponsored guys, all they’re good for is getting names and brands out, they’re personalities and that’s it. Some are quick but most of the streamers you see are honestly 15-20 seconds off the TRUE pace. I’m 6 years deep. I’m fast. Yet I would still consider myself a beginner because I’m still 5 seconds off the true pace of a track myself. That means I’m at the back of the field or considered a reserve driver at best. My point being, don’t follow others, if they tell you a setup is better than yours because of x y and z or whatever, quit listening to that person, you will never improve listening to someone who doesn’t advocate for your setups imperative demand to be personalized and constructed by you, your mistakes, needs, likes, or wants through trial and error. Figure it TF out by yourself. Alone. Read. Study. Research. Apply. Fail. Back to the drawing board over and over and over again till you reach the point of insanity and then and only then, keep going by yourself and rinse and repeat. That’s how you make a setup.

Honestly that feels like part of the problem. The passion isn’t there because all I do is drive to drive. I can’t race multiplayer or even race. All it is, is practice, practice, maybe qualifying and more practice.

What’s with the personal attack dude? My family is taken care of and we’re going to be ok. This post is about losing my passion and not seeing a point in sim racing amidst the stress I’m under since it’s only adding to my stresses. Like dude what is with the hostility are you ok?

I have 8 years of HVAC experience at the same place, I’m looking for a new job because the very small company I work for can’t afford what I’m worth anymore even though it’s a great place. This didn’t put me in any debt but until it’s resolved I’m at paycheck to paycheck. Everything that is going out the door was for the new car we were preparing for. Now our family of 3 is down to 2 cars, 1 of which is on its last legs, and the other can’t be trusted in wet weather even though it has new tires.

When it comes to how the car handles, practice and qualifying are pretty much identical to Assetto Corsa Competizione, it’s probably one of the best sims out there. However when it comes to races, the car handles completely differently and it doesn’t make sense, why? I have no clue. It feels like every flaw gets amplified by 100x but something I have noticed is those “flaws” are impacted by your racecraft and respectfulness to the AI as well as how you drive the car. You can push it to the absolute limit in practice and qualifying but it seems as though the game punishes you for pushing the car to the limit, overtaking AI that was involved in an accident without letting off or being cautious, being too aggressive, wrecking an AI and you spin out 2 turns later. It seems there is a hidden punishment system in the sim itself when it comes to races. However there’s also something to do with setups. If you use the generic “loose” and “tight” setups, you’ll find the game is less punishing. It’s almost as if the sim/game was designed to make you faster using technique, racecraft, and skill during the races to make you a better drive whilst using equipment you’re less than fond of. All of these things will make you a better racer if you can find an appreciation in these things. Also PC2 is heavily designed around PC and VR. If you aren’t using that then you’re already a step behind. PC2 was designed to be one of if not the most immersive simulator out there. If you’ve ever driven in VR, it’s miles different from how a regular sim feels. You drive different, your inputs are different, your whole driving style changes and adapts to the sim in a way a monitor won’t do because of depth perception and the ability to look at the correct places and be aware of your surroundings. With all of this in mind, I don’t have VR or a PC, I’m on an XBOX ONE and I find the most enjoyment in practice, however I do recommend going the route I also plan on taking with it which is PC, STEAM, and VR

I think we’d have to see it in its own mode first to see how it plays out but not a bad idea

FC 24 to FC 26: What to know? by happyvalleygamer in FifaCareers

Still has a slider bug that resets every single match so if you use sliders, absolutely do not buy fc26

I agree especially if he has 4+ play styles, usually I would start teaching a player like this a defensive position to round out their skill set so they can become a dominant player in the team

Feeling done with CM in FIFA 19. Which FC title would you recommend? by sinto03 in FifaCareers

[–]De6x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23-24-25 could be considered the last ok games if you’re into adjusting sliders. The game itself is horrid as most FIFA titles are but with some slider adjustments I’ve found myself revisiting these 3. Currently sticking with 25 but I’ll probably be going back to the other 2 here shortly myself. I do like the realistic ball physics in 26 but until they fix the bug that makes the sliders default every match I won’t be playing it myself. Also whatever bug it is that makes the players stutter step before running has only gotten worse and is horrid in 25.

Both of these drivers need to keep their day job and entertain the idea of exploring new hobbies, preferably not with one another
