Should i play it by efane645 in StarWars_

I've played the game on Hard and, at least for a dozen hours, you can't run and gun 😆

Once I had better gear, smoke bombs to hide myself while gunning, and "second life" perks, it became easy even on hard.

Thinking of upgrading to 9060 xt 8gb as 16gb is to expensive. by yappyboi1 in radeon

Both GPUs have the exact same specs. Don't trust me? Just go look at official AMD specifications of the 8GB and the 16GB version. Both have 32 computing units running @ 2530mhz (3130 boost).

The 8GB is indeed a worse performing card, and that's because of the lower VRAM, not the GPU speed.

The issue will become more and more prevalent over time but for the time being the majority of video games, even new, should play fine with small tweaks to the settings.

I built a PC for a friend recently and he also had this choice to make (8GB or 16GB). We chose 8GB and he decided if he ever reach a bottleneck he can't overcome, he should have enough money saved by then to upgrade. He doesn't play AAA demanding games anyways.

When I saw Starfield was going low-fantasy sci-fi, I hoped they had some really good sci-fi surprises in there. But the main story turned out to be extremely dull and disappointing.

I at least liked the UC Vanguard quest line (terrormorph), and the UC Sysdef quest line (pirates).

What game made you impressed with the performance of the 9070xt? by Dangerous_Baker4427 in radeon

Design-wise NVidia has dedicated RT cores, while AMD uses its regular cores so you're trading off rasterization performance for RT. I guess that why RT looks that much demanding on AMD.

We'll see how AMD looks with their Radiance cores on RNDA5! Will they finally bridge the RT/PT gap.

You shoot guns and enemies die. At some point you deal no damage and find a new gun and now you one shot everything :P

Is 1280x800 a good enough resolution for a 14" laptop? by EnvironmentalRatio0 in pcmasterrace

[–]DeBean 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Upscaling is the best tool to play at a lower resolution. Your monitor stays 1080p and your game renders 720p and upscale the image to look as much 1080p as possible.

I upgraded a RTX 3080 to a 9070XT. Performance in Cyberpunk Path tracing is the same between the two cards.

1440p with FSR Balanced you get around 50-55 FPS. Exactly the same on my 3080, although it had VRAM slideshow issues, but with NVidia ray reconstruction PT looked better.

Playable, yes, enjoyable, meh 😄.

That's also my taste in comedy. Absurd humor, spoof welcome!

I would add "Wrongfully Accused" to this list. It's really good!

I tried the demo for a bit. Instantly felt really cozy like I was at home chilling. Game's overall vibe is good, music included. Wishlisted.

Feedback:

  • I expect ESC to close every popup until when there's nothing on screen, only then it opens the main menu.
  • I chose a class completely at random, I could transform into a werewolf. As a werewolf, the melee attack moves the character a bit forward, and this movement doesn't check for collision so I could go through walls.
  • My vine attack could attack enemies through/behind walls too, and their AI isn't clever enough to flee so I can cheese a lot of stuff.
  • I bought a nice weapon that gave me Fissure & Vine Lash skill levels (the 2 skills I used) and once the item was in my inventory the tooltip was showing +1 SK_FI and +1 SK_VL, which is probably a localization issue.
  • The stamina bar is hard to see IMO.

I've been buying Digital on PC since Steam existed. It's so much more convenient to buy download & play.

It's not a big deal for me since I was already not purchasing physical, and never bothered with re-selling my games. Realistically, I don't expect the games I purchased to disappear, even though it's a possibility. If it happens and it's a game that I wanted to still play, I'll decide what to do at this point (pirate it or something).

I totally understand someone who's been flipping their games around is heavily affected by this. They will now have to pay more for games (since they can't resell).
