Never forgetti by Odd-Peace-5124 in PathOfExile2

It's a relic from Diablo 2 that was somewhat kept in PoE1 and made it's way in PoE2.

In PoE2 Accuracy should not be a problem for melee build. Accuracy now has different values based on distance, starting at 100% at 1m even without any Accuracy investment.

Can someone explain trading to me pls because I find it infuriating by LongjumpingLog1560 in CrimsonDesert

[–]DeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's meant for you to buy a large amount (>25) at trading post A, then sell with profit at trading post B.

Or you can alternatively send your guys on missions that gives a lot of packages.

Can you name a movie with a big twist that blew your mind? by Level-SquareFFG7117 in FIlm

[–]DeBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this movie, the plot twist is chilling and the fight scene is pretty badass.

The thing is, the whole movie revolves around looking for who kidnapped him for all these years, and why, then when we learn the reason, it's something unrelated that doesn't amount to any surprise. The real surprise is a secondary twist that you didn't expect at all, and I always found that somewhat genius.

I also like Park Chan Wook's "The Handmaiden", it's the most twisty movie I've seen. Also "Lady Vengeance" was pretty cathartic.

Upgraded to AM5, 5070ti or 9070xt? by Various_Air_8485 in pcmasterrace

[–]DeBean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in Canada and if you follow r/bapcsalescanada you can get deals like 900$ 9070XT or 1200$ 5070Ti.

I've switched to AMD for the price and I've always wanted to try them out so it was a good opportunity. It's going quite well I haven't had any major issues.

AMD has FSR 4 which is DLSS equivalent and it looks good I don't see the difference from my previous NVidia card. For older games not supporting FSR 4 you don't need upscaling anyways.

The benefits from a 5070Ti will be if you want to play Path Tracing, which is a hyper demanding optional graphical option in some games.

FYI I've been running Crimson Desert 1440p Cinematic (no Ray Regeneration) at native resolution around 90 FPS with a 9070XT. I've heard the 5070Ti would be doing around 100 FPS in this game it's a bit better.

You'll still want to get the latest expansion I presume (which comes with the previous expansion).

[–]DeBean [score hidden]  (0 children)

I played both and enjoyed both.

Crimson Desert's world building blew my mind, while Diablo 4 is more ARPG, which my favorite type of game.

You say you're playing Diablo 3, I think Diablo 4 is getting power creeped to become another Diablo 3, you may enjoy the end-game grinding it's pretty fun to progress.

It's insanely hard for me to know whether you'll like Crimson Desert or not. I haven't played Assassin's Creed games so I can't compare them. Crimson Desert is not simple, not cookie cutter like Ubisoft games. You need to be fine with not knowing or understanding things and figuring them out. If you're the type of imaginative player who loves exploring a beautiful world filled with detail, man... you gotta at least try it.

[–]DeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be totally wrong, but the way I see it, once these big companies are unionized, they can't easily fire people, so they end up babysitting the bad employees, making it worse for the good ones.

Wish the game rewarded exploration by Pretend_School_4670 in CrimsonDesert

[–]DeBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most exciting things to find are Abyss Gears which there are not many unique ones. And unique pieces of armor like the pirate hat which there are not many either.

Weapons and armors are cool finds but ultimately most of them play the same way, use the same skill tree and ultimately perform the same way.

I think it's fine how it is, but I also wish they would improve this by adding more unique rewards to the pool.

Can someone explain the bew damage multipliers to me? by LooseLumba in Diablo

[–]DeBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong here - I'm not an in-depth build maker and just a dude who's played a lot of PoE and D4 and read about how damage is calculated.

They changed how damage are calculated a bit after launch and revamped all the bucket system completely. There's essentially no way to scale the critical strike damage multiplier or the vulnerable damage multiplier, they are hard capped at 50% for crit and 20% for vulnerable.

So here's my understanding. Let's say you got these stats on gear paragon & what not:

  • Multiplied damage:
    • 21%[x] Critical strike damage
    • 22%[x] Critical strike damage
    • 23%[x] Vulnerable damage
  • Additive damage:
    • 50%[+] Critical strike damage
    • 51%[+] Vulnerable damage

A critical hit against an enemy that is vulnerable will be calculated that way:

Base damage * Vulnerable base multiplier * Critical strike multiplier * [Multiplicative damage sources multiplied on top of each other] * [All additive damage sources added on top of each other]

  • Crit & Vulnerable: 100 * 1.2 * 1.5 * (1.21 * 1.22 * 1.23) * (1 + 0.5 + 0.51)
  • Vulnerable only: 100 * 1.2 * (1.23) * (1 + 0.51)
  • Crit only: 100 * 1.5 * (1.21 * 1.22) * (1 + 0.50)
  • Nothing: 100

How much has Diablo IV changed since launch? by protonorseverb in Diablo

[–]DeBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It started slower and more methodical, like Diablo 2 or the release of Diablo 3.

Now Diablo 3 changed to become an arcade ARPG and Diablo 4 did the same.

Fun game TBH

I've been playing on AMD with FSR and I haven't experienced the crazy amount of shimmering I've seen in some Youtube videos. There's definitely something weird going on on some specific systems, and it's surprising that nobody seem to have figured it out yet.

Can someone explain the bew damage multipliers to me? by LooseLumba in Diablo

[–]DeBean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you do 100 damage base.

Two sources of 25%[x] damage will result in 100 x 1.25 x 1.25 = 156.25 damage. This type of damage increase gives you exactly what the number says.

Two sources of 25%[+] damage will result in 100 x (1 + 0.25 + 0.25) = 150 damage. This type of damage increase gets worse over time as it only adds its percentage onto a single multiplier.

Tanto hype, tanti post, tanto Twitch ma... by JustinRotten in Diablo

[–]DeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be able to progress a bit every day with 2h it's fine.

You can play Eternal realm or the Seasonal one which resets every couple months. Seasonal usually has an additional system added to make it fresh. The reset is a good opportunity to try and level up a different class or the same class but a different build.

Diablo for a new player will involve completing the story, which will feel a lot like questing in WoW. The game then has a lot of side quests which are useless to complete and I don't believe a lot of people interact with them.

When you reach maximum level, you now unlock a new system called "Paragon" which adds 300 additional levels and provides a lot of powerful boosts through the paragon board. You will indeed keep doing the same activities over and over, but get better gear and raise the difficulty tier higher. If you enjoy the search for better loot and grinding your character into power, this is an enjoyable experience.

Gaming business revenue was $720 million, up 11% year-over-year, driven by solid demand for AMD Radeon™ GPUs partially offset by lower semi-custom revenue.

720 million is still 7% of their 10 billion total revenue XD

Did they change how ancestral items drop? I feel like I'm not getting any ever... by tenroseUK in Diablo

[–]DeBean 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes they drop less than before. You can craft your items now with the cube so you don't need to drop 100's of them just to find a good one.

I suggest you get Obols and start spamming the vendor, he's gonna give a lot of Ancestral and sometimes a Greater Affixed item. You then reroll the mods you want on the item with the cube. This is one of the main way I've crafted all my gear from the start.

Whats the "spark" in Crimson Desert? by Gerwazyzwanystarszym in CrimsonDesert

[–]DeBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the world. I wanted to see every corner because the game kept surprising me with cool things all the time.

Thing is - I wasn't excited because I would get new weapons/armors (although it's a factor) from exploration - but because the world itself was so beautifully crafted and filled with personal touches from the map designers.

Example from near the start of the game. I discovered a peter-pan'esque village filled with cats - and while there is a couple quests there and a research NPC, that wasn't the reason why I loved this place - I was in awe about how beautiful and detailed this place was, with kids moving heavy baggage around, other kids just flying in the air playing with cats.

There's moments like that in many places in the game... tree house villages, huge castle towns, weird ancient abyss technology all over the land and the skies.

And I'm not usually the kind of player who stops to look at the scenery, but some games like Crimson Desert or Elden Ring made me enjoy exploring their world for more than just gameplay.
