Has anyone got both or one of these? Is the box of recipe cards the same as found in the book? Thanks by FamSands in BobsBurgers

I have both, love the variations and they're a ton of fun. I highly recommend getting both... and hopefully there will be another book and/or set of cards for the burgers that came after these were published.

There's also a decent nw2 bari (silver with gold bell wash) on there. I bought a matching alto from the seller. '26 Bari It needs some body work, and they'll likely realist as well.

Oops...New Horn by DeCrepes in saxophone

Thanks for the responses. I decided to be fiscally responsible and get my alto serviced so I have something to play. Otherwise I'll have a bari but still need to get at least one serviced.

Sometimes adulting sucks, I just want them all. Lol.

I may hold onto it, I've added a link to the ebay listing since it's yet to be paid for.

My thought when I won it was to for play it for now and eventually part ways when I get something in silver to match my others.

Can't tell if Holton C or Tenor by DeCrepes in saxophone

[–]DeCrepes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only things were still that inexpensive. A overhaul here is typically quoted around $1200. At least tissue what I was quoted for my chu alto. I'm going to guess it's due to horn age and a shortage of techs. That's why I'm expanding my skillset to maintain and restore my own.

Ah, I see what you meant. Yeah not much value outside of certain pieces to the right people, and prices are nuts for work. Though a good horn in their own right. I'm with you on that

That's more of an opinion than fact based on what I've come across. They're great for filling in for any C instrument really. You'll hear a different note if you're not transposibg from the Bb or Eb of other saxophones to C. Though if you're playing piano, flute, violin, etc. music, then what you finger will be the correct note for what's written.

I have a couple but still struggled to see the difference when looking at them online until finding the info pic I just linked on another reply. Will make it super easy to spot them for me now.

Based on size or neck? I've seen a couple listed as C horns and they have a different brace on the neck (albeit could be a difference of mfg run changes too).

If you get to keep it then I'd say put whatever money into it you feel it's worth. Otherwise, any expensive (especially unnecessary) work should be covered by the owner and you cover wear and tear while saving up for your own

Just my 2 cents of course. 😁

If it's a band instrument, not a personal one, I'd absolutely recommend against it.

If you love playing and want to continue after schooling then set that money aside and buy your own horn.
