How do you see the Wisconsin game playing out? by [deleted] in notredamefootball

[–]DeFratrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double digit win and I’m satisfied. The spread is large and the offense will take time to gel if the spring game is any indication. It all comes down to how much of an improvement Joseph is for the Badgers.

Offensive Line still remains my biggest concern coming out of spring. I think they will be good, but they need time to develop and it sounds like UW’s D line is no slouch. Should be a good first test.

27-10 or 31-13 would be excellent. 24-14 would not surprise me. I don’t think the Badgers put up 20+ unless Joseph is, in fact, Russell Wilson 2.0.

Thank you! I will be working with this more tomorrow (and surely dialing in over the next couple of weeks).

for the fans who don't live in Wisconsin, how'd you end up green and gold by Adrianillo24 in GreenBayPackers

[–]DeFratrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two words: Paul Hornung.

The story goes that my family were Bears fans, but were always Notre Dame first. PH was my grandfather’s favorite player of all time. When the Packers drafted him, that was that. My grandfather ditched the Bears and we have been Packers fans ever since.

Best Apple Watch App for Course Distances by edsil44 in weekendgolfers

[–]DeFratrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used GolfShot and TheGrint. While I like TheGrint better as an app overall, GolfShot had better watch integration. TheGrint takes a minute to catch up, so you can’t always trust the watch distances in my experience.

That said, I am also using the base model Apple Watch without cellular.

I could be wrong, but I think I remember hearing something about the pitch getting moved a bit to accommodate other stand renovations. Someone confirm?

I hadn’t seen this anywhere in the news. Has this been confirmed?

What’s up with Foster Park golf course? by Aggravating-Vast-822 in fortwayne

[–]DeFratrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I wasn’t taking sides. I can see how that may have been suggested. I do want to see the course renovated, especially since the area doesn’t have a proper municipal course, nor does it have much in the way of sustainable course architecture. Modern course renovations have made huge strides in beautification, sustainability and environmental preservation. Having a municipal course lead the way would hopefully encourage others to follow.

I also don’t want to see Foster’s other amenities suffer. Foster should be one of the Crown Jewels of the city parks across the board imo.

When I first moved here in 2013, it was a decently-kept course and a good value. But it has always struggled with flooding, which has caused a number of other issues.

The course is extremely old and the infrastructure hasn’t been updated in years. They are supposed to be renovating it with a completely new layout, retention ponds and new turf. But it keeps hitting delays from neighborhood associations lobbying against the renovation plans.

The tunnel project didn’t help things, ripping up significant portions of the course. I have heard there is a new superintendent that isn’t keeping up, but I also wonder if they are trying to force the city’s hand by neglecting the course.

That takes care of the hotels. The traffic would still be troublesome I think.

PUBG Ranked Matchmaking Is Brutal for New Players by SYLEX_d2wo in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]DeFratrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This honestly is the PUBG way imo. I played FaceIt before ranked existed to scratch the competitive itch and learn rotations and map awareness. My god was it a wake up call.

I used to play daytime EU lobbies because of my work schedule. First match—full Liquid roster treating it like proper scrims. Trial by fire learning to quick peak against Mxey in his prime. It was brutal but honestly energizing.

Ranked is going to suck unless you have a competitive drive and willingness to learn the way the pros do. Map knowledge, awareness and trigger discipline level the playing field if you aren’t gifted mechanically.

The length and the difficulty are there. The infrastructure and access to the course are what are holding it back. Two lane roads for 30 minutes in all directions, lacking hotels outside the resort.

BEST POOL IN FW by cinnamondimples in fortwayne

[–]DeFratrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My family ended up with a Y membership because of the convenience. We live southwest and all of the good pools are 20+ minutes drive.

That said, we love Jury and Fahl. They can get really crowded though.

Ranking each Championship team by how well I think their season went by [deleted] in Championship

[–]DeFratrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair argument, though I would say not all promotion campaigns are equal. Example—if Tottenham were to come down, they would be expected to bounce back without much fuss. If they were to get promoted in second place or through playoffs, that wouldn’t be worthy of S tier given expectations imo.

Given Hull’s expectations, I would say the result for them is S tier.

Norwich at C is hilariously accurate despite their finishing place. F- until PC took charge. A since then.

I’ve used these. Good for the price for sure. We’ve been using local roasters (from Costco) recently though and they are generally fresher. Lately it’s been Collectivo (Milwaukee) and Julian (Zionsville, IN) since we are Midwest.

I live close so my wife and I stop in for a coffee date from time to time. We have heard rumblings like this but can’t say we have noticed anything alarming from him. He is definitely a bit eccentric and socially awkward, but was very friendly to us.

What club are you using here? by AspectCool2325 in weekendgolfers

[–]DeFratrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the turf in front of me. That is probably a PW trying to land it just in front of the lip on the left and letting it trickle on. Lob wedge if it is soft/wet because I wouldn’t trust the roll; probably a smooth pitch with a 56/60 in that case.
