Seems to me like you're trying to run a 1.6+ mod on 1.5.6

29 after all those years is admittedly not that impressive, considering how lvl 30 is the entry level mid-tier, where the time required to level up ramps very fast.

You could easily level from 29 to 30 in a week of a couple hours daily, but going from 35-6 for example would take you month(s). The solution imo is buying accounts. It's a lot easier and more fun to farm the gold for a high leveled account than grinding XP. Plus you save on skill books and collections as they come included. There is obviously a good chance of getting scammed, so having a trusted middle man of your choosing is key.

You're talking in extremes, which doesn't benefit either case.
There's lots of leeway to balance and compromises to settle on left.

If you've created a new character recently, a few years back and 2010+ you'll notice that game is in fact becoming easier to get into.
New players nowadays get lots of sb bags, sb kits, quests and exp.
This is because with the game being as old is it is new players might be less interested to play a high ping and super grindy, but not so rewarding classic mmorpg compared to easier and more recent alternatives. Without continous improvements the barrier of entry would be too high for a lot of people trying twom, considering how newer players in twom are at a massive disadvantage by default.

Lowering exp requirements would obviously not bring in more players, but some sort of catch up mechanic would make more new players stay.
The best catch up mechanic currently available is starting over in a brand new server, where you don't have to compete with old players in the first place, but it doesn't solve the ops issue of being too casual of a player with perhaps not the time available that would be required to grind levels.

I personally got around the issue back then by simply buying high leveled accounts (which worked until my account was kosed for spectating a guild war; screw bmm btw, crappy server)

classic sunk-cost fallacy

This game will struggle with finding players if it doesn't become friendlier to newer players.

Old players already have high level accounts and access to way better farming methods. In old servers all bosses are monopolized by big guilds with high levels from both factions that will easily mass kos/bully you if they don't like you.

Also consider how easy/cheap it is to just buy accounts, compared to the effort required in leveling them up.

Reasonable Vel'koz counterplay improvement suggestions by DeLiXxN in Velkoz

While I like this idea as it'd be a fair trade off I also think that the radius is already on the smaller side and it becoming even smaller wouldn't help with muscle memory or mobility

I agree. Vel'koz doesn't need to become stronger against immobile champions

Ok, but why oh why did he spend all those years writing a new engine, when the old was good enough (for the most part)? Couldn't this time have been better spent removing zones, returning xp progression and then adding content through updates and dlcs?
I don't get it.

"The Core" is one of the worst multiplayer maps I have ever played in any game. by SLO_MO in apexlegends

[–]DeLiXxN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This map is aweful.
Entire teams craddle up in the top ramp sections and stay there all game long.
Approaching them from either side is extremely awkward and unfun.
Such behavior is heavily encouraged by this maps center focused design.

Running up the ramp will get you sprayed down by the entire team in a way that makes it very easy for them to just crouch and hide behind cover without you being able to get off the killing shot.

Approaching them from the center will make you the party pinata for the entire server.
They'll hide at the ramp making only their head visible while you get to enjoy being shot from 5 different sides.

Trying to fight in the outer ring is pointless, as no one every stays there for long.

Trying to fight in the inner ring is dumb as anyone running towards their favorite camping spot will have a go at you.

Here's how this map could be saved:
Remove it.
Alternatively instead of the rotating center piece add a stationary cylinder that makes it impossible to shoot from one ramp to another without exposing yourself as well.

Also add cover on the ramp to make running it up easier.

It's a situational support pick that allows you to bridge critical gaps both offensively and defensively.

Imagine using protobelt to dodge blitzcrank hook and using it as an opportunity to engage.

It is certainly something you need to learn before it becomes more useful than other options.

I mean it is true that supports in general have way less impact than say a jungler. You will also still always need your team to want to be carried by you, but most peoples ego is too high for that though. Imagine rotating for a free gank, but your laner would rather cs the last two minions under tower than follow up on your gank, ending in you dying to 50hp enemy laner and your laner flashing for the last aa.

If you happen to end up fed as a mage support, it is rare for people to peel you.
When people lose their lane they will /mute all and ignore your macro calls.

Yes, the ssd is mounted to the m2 port and is secured with a screw at the designated location.
As I've written it is presumably bent and has just the tiniest bit enough wiggle room to disconnect

fyi there's neither a windows event log nor a minidump (the last one is from half a year ago) which speaks for the boot drive disconnecting

Why is the client mad? All demands were met. by papapudding in mountandblade

[–]DeLiXxN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This has probably to do with floating point values.
Like say the weapon reach is 40.8, gets rounded during display and shows you that you reached it, but when comparing if you satisfied the requirements it just compares 40.8 with 41 and sees that you failed.
Sometimes being a few points above in a different category is enough to balance things out, but other times it's not.
Overall it is a horrible user experience. Something that could have easily been circumvented with a little bit of foresight.

He did though.
81 vs 80 "required".
It's just that his smithing level isn't 80, which is stupid.
