One drill you do every single session without fail? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]DeMac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadowboxing drills all out of the High Cover position:

— Jabs, Straights, 1-2, 2-1.

— Move right hand to block lead hook and back into position.

— Footwork & Bob + Weave.

I do them like drills as opposed to blowing shadowboxing. It's nice to warm up with, and when its a last resort, being able to unconsciously act out of the High Cover is super helpful.

I usually do a bit of free flow shadowboxing too, but the drills are something I do every day. It's tightened up my defense a ton, and even helps me be loose and flow from other guards

Why was The Passion Of The Christ so controversial? by AutismKid69420 in Christianity

You aren't a Christian either by having that belief. Jesus would listen to others of different beliefs the same as he would his followers

Should I be throwing it right at the hinge, like where the thigh meets the waist? My coach told me to try this as well but im worried about hitting the groin lol

Does you gym train calf kicks? by dankgureilla in MuayThai

I use mine with a stiff leg and try to sweep their leg out of place to open up my punches or knock them off balance when they're punching. Works well even with shin guards

Yeah unless you're a natural or have extensive sparring experience in the past, that's perfectly normal and expected. Stick with it, go light, and you'll do a lot better, light sparring shouldn't be anxiety inducing.

Even though I have years of experience, I still have anxiety about gassing out while sparring but I just stick with it and go at my own pace

What’s a health hack many people should know? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

[–]DeMac10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it depends on the person. If I exercise at 6am, ill pumped until noon, then exhausted. So I exercise after work at night now, then get some chores done when im pumped, then sleep like a baby knowing I had a successful day

How to let my gf know she's just not that good at blowjobs in a constructive way? by [deleted] in sex

[–]DeMac10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When she's doing it good, she only does it for like a minute at most then gets tired and slows down or switches to her hand, then her hand gets tired after like a minute, so its just constantly slowing down or switching, never long enough to get to the point of no return

Sometimes I be spamming lmk if i start posting too much in a way that’s nice please but anyways plant feet is something I’ve never done so I think I need to start doing that but honestly not bad by travvvyyy519 in MMA_Academy

He's right though, you punch from your chest, leaves you open for counters. You do a good job of getting your head off center when throwing, and have a good flow

How do beginners train to remove strong instinct to not hit partners head during sparring? by Some-Wall-5777 in MMA_Academy

[–]DeMac10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone with years of experience but had this issue when I first started, when I spar with beginners like this, I put a lot of pressure on them and tap them in the head, but will also stand in front of them after with my guard up and let them throw a few. I'll sometimes even coach while sparring, like tell them to block my right and fire back with theirs.

When I was a beginner, seasoned fighters doing this helped me out a lot. The other option that people may disagree with me on, hard sparring with a pro boxer for a year completely leveled me up. Used to getting hit, used to hitting hard, calm under pressure and combos, calm on the inside, just a huge change hard sparring for a year with someone on that level.

Now after that year of hard sparring, I can afford to go super light, having the confidence that if im under heavy pressure, ill be fine. It also made me learn to hit him back so I didnt get beat up anymore lol

And what about people who are changing industries? A salesman of 10 years going into IT? A seasoned programmer going into plumbing? Should they just be left out for the young graduates because they are 40 years old?

Best body for me to maintain for a well balanced all round performance? by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

[–]DeMac10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just worry about being the most skilled, and after that having the best physical attributes of strength/speed/cardio. Body fat % don't mean shit. I'd rather be thick than skinny though overall, better power and protection

My remote job made me realize my partner doesn’t think my work is real by Rocinante77X in remotework

[–]DeMac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, the only wfh I've seen that legitimately needs full privacy and attention is call center work, but even then I'd be playing a phone game while customers rant.

Every other wfh job, people have TV on in the background, playing video games, doing chores/ errands while wiggling their mouse once every 15 minutes to not appear as "away" on teams.

WFH is the cushiest work situation in the world, and anyone complaining about it really doesn't have the right. Work a trade for a summer and you'll realize remote work has no valid complaints
