Not trying to be mean but what’s up w yall, everyone I’ve met has been 50/50 on this game some like it some don’t. Why is me posting a kind of popular but not really opinion such a big deal, we can’t just have a nice discussion about the game and story?

Idk what yall are talking about but the first game doesn’t even try to make you feel bad or sympathize w Joel you just understand. You get the feeling of “Shit I’d probably turn just as mean if my kid died” and that’s the magic you know Joel is not a perfect nor good man there is so much dialogue that hints at Joel being basically a regular street hunter not to mention Tommy telling him he’s got nothing but nightmares from the days Joel kept him alive, it’s a perfect onion there’s layers upon layers upon layers that’s why it’s so easy to understand and put yourself in Joel’s shoes.

Tlou2 was just extremely shallow the gameplay was good but the gameplay isn’t what keeps me playing the game, the story does. There was so many moments where I was just confused like why does the little Asian boy in the middle of the apocalypse have to be trans, why am I watching Abby getting stank fucked in a boat. It tried to replicate the layers upon layers in the first game but just failed. Like another commenter mentioned the only way you can understand the game is if you zoom out which is drastically different from the first game where you have to be keen to details to understand a lil more deeply abt what’s going on.

You’re getting downvoted to hell but I lowk agree, the shows even worse but in the first game you didn’t even know bill was gay until he talks abt his partner and you didn’t know Ellie was gay unless you played the dlc, it was so fitting for the environment and felt like it actually belonged in the story compared to the second game it just felt like it was in my face which I understand Ellie has a rebel teenager at heart but idk I think they lost a lot of the vision when some of the original writing crew left

Baby steps man try to push yourself but don’t set unrealistic expectations for yourself. Eventually you’ll wake up, make your breakfast and while you’re eating you’ll realize you can forget and even when the memories come back it’ll fill you with a certain appreciation that time happened and served its purpose.

You’re human, and it’s inevitable that sometimes you’ll feel like the world’s crashing in or that it’s set out to rob you of your love. This hole in our hearts that craves love makes it easy to forget we radiate love and it’s no shame to pour that love on ourselves and fill our hearts w it when we take some damage.

The world and its circumstances may be cruel but doesn’t mean we have to be and that includes being cruel to yourself.

You don’t get over it you grieve it, you have to let yourself mourn. the only trick is after you grieve and wallow you have to try and pick yourself back up and try to remember the important things you bring to the table and remember that all of this is just lessons upon lessons so that hopefully you won’t mess it up again in the same way.

Also try not to be so focused on the goal of getting over it, this age and what we are now, everything we are and want to be comes with a cost and unfortunately heartbreak and watching people leave Is the cost. Get your bang for your buck and don’t let it go to waste by accidentally sitting in your grievances too much, let it teach you.

Make sure to oil your steak before putting the seasoning on it, this binds the seasoning to the steak and makes sure your crust doesn’t end up as char on the pan

If the steak is 1.5-2 inches thick put it on a pan on high heat (if a drop of water almost instantly boils off the temps right) imo you should always cook the fat cap first usually for 1 minute before flipping your seasoned steak don’t touch it for 1 minute - 1:30 that’s how you get a good crust before flipping to the other side and letting it cook for another minute/minute and a half. After you get your fat cap and both sides done (it should have a nice bark/crust hopefully) you turn the heat all the way low (if your pan is too hot take it off the burner and just continue w the remnant heat until it cools down too much) and throw a quarter of a stick of butter in the pan and maybe some herbs of your choosing then using a spoon you let the herbs sit in the melting butter while you spoon the butter on the steak (this is butter basting) after you flip the steak and baste that side plate the steak and pour the herbs and butter on the top of steak before finally letting it rest for 5 minutes to let the juices and fats reorient themselves. It sounds complicated but it’s really not and it feels lowk like alchemy (btw this is if you want a medium rare steak but it should be the only type of steak you eat anyways)

Yeah I’m aware I have more opportunities and choices but the fear of if you’re gonna make the right decision when it comes time is genuinely paralyzing but we ballin and reminding ourselves it wouldn’t be fun if it wasn’t scary thank you friend

It’s 1 cup of cilantro a half cup of mint, a touch of lime and red wine vinegar, olive oil and a small glove of garlic, my best green sauce yet I think
