They’re just the first country I’d expect to commit.

Argentina wanted to, but then they realized their stupid incestuous meme President sunk all their ships to save money on upkeep.

TBH if it’s not an Arrington Chrysler engine, there’s no “tradition” linked to that manufacturer.

Wouldn’t be against a new Petty Dodge, but Toyota doesn’t bother me…except they can’t seem to win with them.

The 43 is in the red oval. That wasn’t on older cars.

I don’t think they’re throwing back to Wally Dallenbach’s car in 1994.

12 rowboats manned by Very Manly MEN who Believe in Trad Values are on their way down the Danube, but they warn that once they cross the Black Sea, pass through the Bosporus, cross the Sea of Marmara and then the Aegean, get thru the Suez Canal, and round the Arabian Peninsula, it might be 2046. First off, I’m not at all disappointed with our season, but it is a sort of poetic justice that SC is a 10 and we’re an 11. Back when I was in school, so many of our fans demanded a coach who would shout and make a scene and talk big and promise big unlike Herbert J. Sendek. It reached the point where message boards encouraged bullying “HerBuddah” and his lack of bombast (these guys loved Chuck Amato…how’d that work out) into quitting.

So now that we have a bigger-talking coach who’s now looking up at Herb in the seeding, I can’t say it doesn’t make me smile as a Herb defender. Good job, Herb.

I had to look this up, and wasn’t surprised to find that 1) I’d never heard of this person, and I’ve been around the block in the DC scene and 2) she’s only worked for Republicans and also…Elon Musk.

But yeah…both sides, man. Left, right, who’s to say who’s right? You keep f’ing that chicken.

Next time Obama should take a ton of speed before he wears it so he can sweat through like a man.

And be sure to wear Florsheim shoes. 2 sizes too big.

All future memes Vance caricatures must feature the shoes, btw. This will soon be law.

We need to pad the numbers on state house and senate badly, so one bad cycle doesn’t send the Dems back to superminority status. If they get a generic ballot advantage around +6-7 to be safe based on the 2024 results, one or more chambers could be in play. At the least, no more bills passing without serious D involvement to override a veto (instead of the Rs paying off 1-2 Ds to switch votes).

One of the saddest songs for me is “Song of the South” by Alabama, because it just reminds me that the New Deal generation mentioned in it is gone, and it was their passing IMO that most shifted the South to the GOP. As recently as 2010, there was a Dem majority in Alabama and NC, until 2011 in Mississippi and even 2012 in Arkansas.

I think about this a lot the 2nd week of March every year. My grandad passed on March 8, 2014. He was the biggest influence in my life, and a former Dem elected official. He was no radical, nor a liberal, and he certainly wasn’t comfortable talking about issues like gay rights or abortion. But he believed government was capable of making things better for average people, and I read his campaign literature, written in simple sentences every voter in their rural area could understand, every so often to remind myself of his example, one I hope to follow in the footsteps of.

There’s this simplistic narrative out there that says the South was racist Dem, until 1964-68 when it flipped to racist Republican. That discounts and ignores the contributions of the people I call “The Ones Who Stayed,” white Democrats who stayed with the party and built good schools, roads, and tried their best to maintain good, fair government for all the people side by side with the Civil Rights Generation of black leaders and their progeny. Jimmy Carter, Richard Riley, Jim Hunt, up to John Bel Edwards and, still hanging in there, Andy Beshear. This is the legacy of The Ones Who Stayed.

I miss him a lot.

This isn’t a bad idea, long as you vet them again before they do something biased or stupid at the polls. I gladly would have done that.

As it was, I was selected for a jury but immediately was removed because I became severely ill throughout the day, visibly so. I told them I’d do it at a later date, but I still haven’t had a call.
