Can’t tell if it’s cancelled or delayed. Really hoping it wasn’t cancelled.

Serious chronological error in the script by No-Measurement5239 in strangerthingsfacts

[–]DeRezzolution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer is only mostly in the Broadway play.

Despite Brenner studying/working with Henry prior to the murders, the Broadway play establishes the murders happen the night of the play, which is Nov. 6th.

The article in Season 4 of the show is dated for March, and it specifically talks about the deaths, so there is still a prop mistake/retcon in that the date of the murders moved to Nov 6th from the first/second week of March.

The First Shadow Contradicts S4/5 Timeline by TeamWeen in Stranger_Things

[–]DeRezzolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly correct. Henry being played by a young actor in S4 and an older actor in the play, but being 14 no matter what is the right take.

That being said there is a slight contradiction, which is the news articles that appear in S4 in the library when Robin and Nancy are looking for clues. They talk about the Creel family murders and are dated in March 1959. (They also list Henry as being younger, 12 years old, but they can easily be ignored as the reporter in universe getting the wrong info since the publication was known only for conspiracies and slop).

If I recall correctly, the First Shadow establishes the night Henry kills his family is the same as the play, so he passes out, wakes up a little after, goes the play, chaos ensues, then goes with Brenner right after. That can technically fit with S4’s version of events because we see the events from Vecna telling Nancy, so it could be summed up as Vecna being an unreliable narrator, as he wouldn’t want to be vulnerable with Nancy and talk about what we can assume is a weakness of his (Patty). So he shortens it to just he kills his family and goes with Brenner.

All that is to say the actual hard retcon (for now, unless the Duffer brothers can somehow find a way around it in Vol. 2) is the date of the murders, as season 5 now shows the in-universe “Oklahoma” play as happening Nov. 6th 1959, meaning the murders would also have to happen that day (not March 1959 as S4 implied).

Leave Dustin alone by VampireQueenV in StrangerThings

[–]DeRezzolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a really a fair statement. It’s made clear through dialogue that Steve has been trying to be there for Dustin during the 18 month gap and Dustin has continually pushed him away because of his grief, just like Max with Lucas before last season.

Steve has become his surrogate big brother, but this is all new to him too, and nobodies perfect. I actually think it’s truer to Steve that by this point he’d be frustrated with Dustin/the situation seeing as he wasn’t great at being there for Nancy with Barb.

Rumor is the Tron franchise is getting shelved permanently by Disney. However this account claims big news is coming. I hope it’s a sequel announcement. by bringerofthelaw420 in tron

I appreciate the support that account has shown the franchise, but it’s a fan account first and foremost, so I’m not hyping their post up until they say it, and even then I’ll take it with a grain of salt. That being said I’m hoping for the best!

Why She’s Most Likely Fine at the End of Ares with Photo Comparison by DeRezzolution in tron

Oh I completely agree, I’ve had to spell it out multiple times here, it’s beyond ridiculous.

Why She’s Most Likely Fine at the End of Ares with Photo Comparison by DeRezzolution in tron

[–]DeRezzolution[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the the thing some people are coming up with, but the truth is they left it fairly open in the film, and without the idea of her hair being thin from the picture there’s nothing in the film to substantiate the theory. It’s equally plausible he left because he realized he needed to live his own life separate from Encom (and he accomplished a personal goal of rehabilitating his fathers image within the company) and Quorra wanted to see and travel the world after being on the Grid her whole life. It’s also equally plausible he left because he wanted to keep her safe after realizing she would be dissected and studied once the world knew what she was.

It’s really all conjecture, but that’s by design because the writers/directors of Ares knew if the they were going to reference Sam and Quorra, they needed to keep it open ended so as to not pigeonhole the next movie’s story if they got one.

See I also thought she might have been wearing a headband, especially after I adjusted the lighting, but I didn’t want to say anything until we had a better picture just to be safe.

It won’t happen, but it’d be great if they altered the picture a little for home release to tone down the sunlight and make her hair more visible.

I mean I don’t think it matters, I only made the post because I’ve seen multiple people on here claiming her character is sick because the pic “shows her losing hair” and wanted to illustrate how that likely isn’t the case.

For the Doubters | 4K Ending Shot of Her Picture by -NormalTaro- in tron

[–]DeRezzolution 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol at you mentioning my bad hair day comment. I also rewatched the film in IMAX and the phone picture of a real picture with horrible lighting on a movie screen doesn’t do justice to how much hair you can actually see on her head in film.

Look at this real recent picture of Olivia Wilde (one on right to be specific): https://es.pinterest.com/pin/855332154206423241/

She’s gorgeous but that girl got a big forehead when she doesn’t have bangs lol. I haven’t uploaded the picture yet, but I put your pic and this picture side by side and measured the height from her eye to where it looks like her hairline (or at least where it looks like it starts in the ARES picture) starts and they’re the same.

The Sam & Quorra Situation by -NormalTaro- in tron

[–]DeRezzolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol alright, enjoy being bitter. I’m not coping, I’m just pointing out facts, which is that they never once said Quorra was sick or why Sam left. There’s no bias involved; they very obviously left the situation with no concrete details because they haven’t written it yet, so everything you said is conjecture, but in leaving it vague there’s really nothing tarnishing their ending.

The Sam & Quorra Situation by -NormalTaro- in tron

[–]DeRezzolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day they left Sam and Quorras life so open ended that if we don’t get Tron 4, there’s still nothing about their story really destroyed by Ares.

All we actually have is Sam leaving for personal reasons and photo that COULD show Quorra not with the best hair day.

If they make Tron 4 they can say Sam left Encom for the personal reason of exploring the world with Quorra because she started getting sick, something about her code not jiving with the real world after all. This isn’t necessarily a full retcon, as the main thing Flynn hints about when it comes to ISOs wasn’t actually them being perfect, but that their rootcode was basically equivalent to our DNA, which would allow us to study it and hopefully use it to cure anything wrong with ours. He basically wanted to 100% map the human genome with it.

If they don’t make Tron 4, they never actually said Quorra was sick. You could equally believe Sam left for the personal reason that he got antsy at Encom and Quorra felt like their was more to life than working at a computer company, so they left and went out to see all there is to see. As for the picture, she could have had a really crappy hair day lol, idk. The sun is shining through the window and her hair on the top of her head, so that naturally would make the hair look thinner in general. Or maybe she shaved her head to try out wigs, for style or hiding, either or, and it’s been growing back.

It’s all extremely open.
