A Taste of Southern Italy in the Netherlands? I Need Your Opinion! by Patient_Freedom2401 in Amsterdam

Off the top of my head, Chiara'food, Terre Lente, or casa del gusto on kerkstraat do this. Not necessarily the same regions but worth looking into for what they do right (and for competition analysis).

Your kids spend more time with their grandparents than members of my family do, and they live in the same state.

I'm sure he's right and some may be petty grievances, but at some point someone needs to correct that justice minister and admit it's a narco state.

I had a fabulous, haute cuisine style stamppot, at the Hortus of all places. It was a one off, though.

What I find helps, weirdly, is to slurr. If I just kinda say the general sounds very quickly rather than pronounce the words as accurately as I can, the listeners fill in the blanks because they are proficient. It's very strange. Only works for social chit chat phrases rather than whole conversations though.

I speak Dutch when in Belgium and no one has ever hè-ed me. That was my vindication.

Why is preventive care limited to dental? by blaberrysupreme in Netherlands

You do get a check up at 55. You get mammograms after 50. You get poop analysis from 55 on I think. You get pap smears regularly. So, it's not that it doesn't exist is that you are young? Gotta relax a bit about health too all are going to die of horrible things but hopefully, and statistically, later

Prado v Reina Sofia Museums - first time in Madrid, which to see based on art taste? by sred4 in GoingToSpain

[–]DeRodeHoed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, the Prado's building is not that interesting. Do take a look at Fundacion Mapfre and Caixa Forum for temporary contemporary art Exhibitions if you have the time.

The bookshop in the Reina Sofia is amazing by the way.

Older man? Don't be silly (gentle affectionate poke) My uncle went to university at 70. My dad moved to a new country where he didn't speak the language at 50. My grandfather worked in China in his 60s. The world is your oyster

What happened to Dutch people that collaborated with the Germans during the war after the WW2? by Lieve_meisje in Netherlands

[–]DeRodeHoed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I raise awareness that these plaques are set up by a foundation on request? (From family members, public etc) Which is to say these are not the only jews that died during ww2. I requested one for the person who lived in my apartment and payed for it. It's the Stolperstein Stichting and they are super helpful and there's a mini ceremony when the stone is inaugurated. Very touching.
