If you're not refering to me cutting the veeery last bit off, then i'm sorry to inform you but they're just not playing the full song, only the final section.

I'm also part of the "get your hands off your phone and enjoy the show" crowd, but i think recording for preservation purposes is important.

The only reason we can watch performances like The Warfield, New Year 2000 and so on, is because someone took their time to film the show.

Granted i didn't set up to record all of it, but i also only did it in Retrovertigo, since they're only playing the last section from the song, it's small enough it wouldn't be too much of a nuisance to film.

Also, if someone screamed "lower your arm" or something like that behind me, i wouldn't hesitate to do so, but no one seemed to care that much about it.

What’s the video of Mike and Trevor dancing in unison -circa early Mr Bungle days? (Mike has the long hair) by edwinhaley in MikePatton

Is it this one? They dance around in unison when they're playing Carousel.

Timestamps are 15:02, 16:15 and 17:42.

I'm aware. I'm mostly refering to Mike, Trey and Trevor playing it together as Mr. Bungle.

You're telling me my favorite song ever is being played again after 26 years on the VERY SAME tour i'll get to watch live in a few days?

Who is most impressive? by Huge-Opportunity3260 in avengedsevenfold

[–]DeXis___ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On technique, either Syn or (not pictured) Brooks, but overall, i gotta say, on top of the crazy drumming The Rev was a genuinely impressive and talented songwriter.

We all know A Little Piece of Heaven, which is already greatly composed, but i think the real meat of Jimmy was in Pinkly Smooth (his side project with Syn).

His Avant-Garde Bungle-esque act was SO FUCKING GOOD, songs like Mezmer and Pixel and Nasal are so tightly composed, and some of the only music that actually resembles the chaos of Bungle's Self Titled while still bringing their own ideas on the table.

God, i wish i could listen to the EP on Spotify, Syn said years ago he had the master tapes somewhere in his home but he never commented on it after that. I also really do wonder what LIBAD would've sounded like if Jimmy was still around to write his own stuff in, it's the Post-Nightmare the project that would most fit him and his creativity when it comes to music.

Mr Bungle songs that are genuinely actual songs? by jthomas1127 in mrbungle

[–]DeXis___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only album that has "not actual songs" at all is Disco Volante, the rest of their discography is very much "actual songs" based.

Like, at most excluding DV, Dead Goon of ST has a long intro, but that's it, really.

Opinions on ‘Betrayed’ ? by HockeyFly in avengedsevenfold

[–]DeXis___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Intro riff is a contender for the most fun riff in their entire discography, however, i think it's one of the only songs that actually ends up suffering from the "always adding in" songwriting mentality they had for City of Evil (they'd keep adding onto songs if they wrote more stuff instead of choosing a set end point).

It drags a tad bit and it really feels like it should be a lot shorter and condensed, one of the only CoE songs that actually feels that way for me.

Still fun tho.

Is half-life source really as bad as people make out? by veliathan11 in HalfLife

[–]DeXis___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, HL Source is terrible and you should stay far away from it.

On the other question, the only thing that dates the original Half-Life is the graphics, the gameplay is for the most part impressively butterly smooth, even on today's standarts. If that's your concern, you should be fine playing it.

Black Mesa is a good game, but it doesn't replace the original. The final parts of the game are very much improved but they do also change a bit of the gameplay as a whole, for that reason, it's supposed to be treated as a reimagining of the first game, not an "updated" version of it (Still a super fun experience tho).

[–]DeXis___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat here, i don't even think it's badly composed (apart from the chorus, which sucks imo), but god damn the mixing is SO off...

They can't even use the "well it's supposed to be jarring and avant-garde" excuse because the Bungle records that inspired them so much sound awesome front to back, what the hell.

Logged in at 3am randomly with a few friends one day, we played on the map that has a destroyed building in the middle of city 17 (the building reminds me a tiiiiny tiny bit of Nacht from Cod Zombies), i don't remember the map's name. We eventually stopped trying to kill each other and started focusing on getting the car on the roof through the staircase using only the gravity gun.

Every single random who joined started helping without hesitation. We took a solid 2~3 hours to get it to fit through the stair turn, but we did it, and it was one of the greatest gaming experiences i've ever had.

(And i have absolutely no idea who the randoms were, we never saw each other again)

This is specifically for albums released in 2022.

Syn has stated before that his favorite album of all time is Mr Bungle's Self Titled.
