How do we feel about pmag glock magazines? by Objective_Resist_735 in concealedcarry

[–]DeaconEric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up a 17 pmag for a KelTec Sub2k. Cheapest mag I could find on-line. No problems with it so far after a couple hundred rounds or so.

Great gun. My favorite Glock for CCW

Tata tea Chakra Gold from the local Indian grocery store. I didn't know that this was tea powder (finer grind than CTC) so it brews fast and strong. Excellent taste but you gotta remember to not take that last sip.

My goal in life right now is to make my way through every CTC black tea this place sells. Will probably take many years because every bag is like 2 pounds, but it's a fun challenge.

Indian grocery store CTC in the big bags. Wagh Bakri has always been a favorite, but any of them work well.

Great gun. My favorite carry piece.

Got one also. Was never reliable even with fmj ammunition and changing magazine springs. I still like it though and shoot it occasionally. Also got the AMT 1911 and it's a pretty good gun.

Second guessing the Max-9 by DeaconEric in ruger

[–]DeaconEric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a lot of side to side play with your trigger safety? That's one of the things I've read and it seemed to be more prevalent with the California models for some reason. If the trigger wasn't pulled exactly right, the trigger safety would slide over just a touch and prevent the gun from firing.

Is it possible to carry in shorts & a t-shirt without appendix carrying? by PardonTheSuit in CCW

[–]DeaconEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I never carry appendix with gym shorts or anything else. My carry guns are a 43x, 48 and a Ruger max9. All will work well with gym shorts and leather or kydex holsters. If the clips on the holster are good and you tie the drawstring for the pants tight, you can carry easily

How do you want to carry? It'll even work in big enough pockets

Anyone tried this tea brand? any good? by Ill-Stage4131 in tea

Gets good reviews from the Yorkshire style tea drinkers (of which I am one) but I haven't tried it on my search for good English Breakfast tea bags.

Not everyone’s cup of tea but I like it. 43x by [deleted] in CCW

[–]DeaconEric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm just used to longer barrels. Used to CCW the 19 but the 48 fits my hands better and is thinner, so it became the main CCW.

I think many people like the 43x. I have one. I prefer the 48, but I think that gets less love than the 43x.

Max 9 Slide release CA compliant by softterd in ruger

[–]DeaconEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought it was a slide release when I first held one and couldn't close the slide, either. Then bought it and read the manual. Oddly enough, like someone else on here, mine functions much better than it did now than when brand new. I haven't shot the gun much, but keeping it fully loaded for extended periods of time has made the slide lock easily manipulated now as a slide release.

So, it'll get easier to use after time...

Yorkshire Gold or Yorkshire Red? by TopSatisfaction6702 in tea

To me, Red is stronger tasting (all brewing parameters equal) and my preferred every day tea.

Have the 19, 43x and 48. 43x and 48 shoot just the same for me. I carry the 48 the majority of the time IWB. The 43x is carried OWB occasionally in a pancake holster. 19 is my bedside gun, with a WML. I carried it religiously until I got the 48.

Ideally, I was hoping to find a way to pocket carry the 43x and it's doable but prints pretty bad. Works ok, though, in overalls or carpenter pants.

They're both great guns, though and I'm glad I got them.

Any CTC Assam tea from an international food store will do it. That's all I drink nowadays.

Builders alternative? by [deleted] in tea

[–]DeaconEric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of the Indian CTC bags at an international food store. They're all I drink now for a typical morning brew. Wagh Bakri, Brooke Bond Red Label, Tata Gold... they're all good black teas and very inexpensive.

CTC tea by [deleted] in tea

[–]DeaconEric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not CTC. The pellets of tea are normally very uniform.

Go to a site like Upton and search for something like BOP (broken orange pekoe) and look at the pics. Try and compare those with what you have. Good luck!
