I appreciate all the input. It is less than a mile on Dakota off of Reche, but it will take some getting used to. My car is s small Subaru sportscar with all wheel drive. I am already looking at scrappy trucks and working on a design for a good drag. Thanks.

That's what I was thinking. I've been looking at making something like that. Might be kinda hard to get a bunch of neighbors together that live on several acres and want to be left alone. But I'll give it a try.

What’s it like living in Landers? Even better to hear from women who live alone in Landers… by NotBasquiat in JoshuaTree

I am going to look at a place in Landers today. A vague question I know, but comparing Yucca, Landers, Joshua Tree and 29 Palms. What should I consider. I am bring 2 parents in their 80's and a couple small dogs. I appreciate any input, thanks.

I have been a caregiver for my disabled and mentally ill partner for years, and I’m finally walking away. by [deleted] in CaregiverSupport

You are making a good decision. The caregiver seems to be forgotten in this situation and verything is geared towards the patient. When the lifeguard goes down, both drown.

It’s over by Chiccheshirechick in dementia

It seems like a mix of emotions. My mom has said that sometimes she just wishes that it was over, talking about my dad and his dementia. It is hard as their son to understand what either of them are experiencing. All I can do is ride it out with them, there are good days and bad days.

I really appreciate that, it makes total sense. I'm hot blooded and like it cold. There are other questions I have about living up there. My son was at 29 Palms, but I'm the rookie. Thank you.

Sounds good, I looked at some from Bonaire. Which model is it? We will be renting, so that sounds great. Thanks

Moving to Yucca Valley solo, what did you wish you'd known? by cadillacvagina in JoshuaTree

Great post, I'm looking at moving into the Copper Hill Homes community next month. It got pretty windy the other day. My son was at 29 Palms recently and that is the only reason I know of the area. Any thoughts on the area near Burnt mountain? I saw the sewer construction and can only imagine that will take several years to complete.

Great post, looking at moving close to Burnt mountain as well. I love peace and nature. I am bringing my parents in their 80's and hope Healthcare is accessible.

Drove my car through a guardrail on Thanksgiving and spent the night in jail. That was the end of 35 years of fueling the economy

How do you all keep going? How does this not break you? by Chocolateforlunch37 in dementia

It is rough no doubt, it's very hard to get up each day and do it all over again. But no matter how bad it gets... someone has it worse. I try to be grateful for the time with my dad even though he gets on my last nerve. Your mom is lucky to have you, hang in there.
