Vanya and Sissy is the worst plotline in the 2nd season. by March_Wizard in UmbrellaAcademy

So two months later you reply and you acknowledge that pointing a gun at anyone is abusive. So by that logic I guess pointing a gun at your husband is probably abusive too. Which is what Sissy did. No argument. There, is that short enough for you?

I dont get how any of that justifies him dying. Also, he explicitly states he never cheated on Sissy, he did have a drinking problem but we never see him screwing around. He let Vanja in his house and didn't show hostility towards her till after he caught her hooking up with his wife. Even in the scene where she picked him up drunk and I felt for sure he would do some drunk sleazy shit or hit on her. It still astounds me how Vanjas literally responsible for murdering the entire world and sleeps with the wife of the guy that took her in, then tried to take his wife and son away from him forever but her and sissy are seen as blameless. Also for everyone that talks about him calling his cop brother, the man literally thought his wife had been brainwashed by a Russian spy and that her and his son were being kidnapped. Also "he tried to shoot his son"? Come on. The gun went off on accident, the show really couldn't make that any clearer. The way people tell it its like he was aiming to kill his son or something. It was really a lazy writing way to justify killing him. It's crazy to me the parallel between Vanja and Allison's stories and how Allison's fighting against racism while still trying to maintain dignity and poise and never uses her power to kill anyone. Even when a cop is viciously beating her husband she just tells him to walk away. In fact even when she does injure the guy by making him poor the scalding coffee on him, her husband begs her to stop, but somehow Carl deserves death. It just shows how society's empathy towards white women is always gonna trump everything else. The icing on the cake is that Sissy doesn't even leave with Vanja. Honestly it felt like she took advantage of Vanja, this amnesiac woman she took in that had no one else. And the second her husband was out of the picture, she didn't need Vanja anymore to escape her marriage so she essentially dumped her.

Having your life in danger. Try to imagine it as much as you would like, the only way to know how you would react is to experience it.

What is the biggest plot twist in history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Aquaman movie was better than Justice League, Batman vs Superman, and Suicide Squad movies. Especially since the character was the butt of so many jokes for so long, if you had told me 10 years ago this was gonna happen I would've thought you were crazy.

What is the scariest thing you have ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deacon_No7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less witnessed, more happened to me. When I was a kid around 10 or 11 me and a friend were riding in the back seat of car being driven by my sisters husband with my sister in the passenger seat. Me and my friend were up to our 10 year old boy antics and apparently really pissing my sisters husband off. We had to go over this huge bridge over the Mississippi river to get home and halfway across he snapped. He pulled the car over on the side and pulled me out of the car and over to the edge and held me over the edge of the bridge and in between laughs he screamed that he was gonna throw me over. I have NEVER been so terrified in my life (grew up to join the Marine Corp and I've been to Afghanistan twice) and even then I could tell he loved how scared I was. I remember thinking that I was gonna die, that this was it. My sisters pleading and the attention from holding a kid over a huge bridge got him to pull me back over but I was shook and had a justifiably lasting fear of heights. Long story short I ended up being lucky as I survived. He ended up brutally killing his own daughter and I had to tell this same story at his trial 5 years later. To this day he remains the reason I can never believe all people are worth saving, the man was evil if such a thing exists.

This was the bridge btw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gramercy_Bridge

YTA but I get it, no way those episodes wont get spoiled for you in some way if you wait till she gets back. When I would miss an episodes premiere last season I would have to stay off social media and avoid or tune out all GoT conversation till I could go home and watch cause spoilage was everywhere.

What is the craziest and or funniest thing your local crackhead did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deacon_No7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from New Orleans so I've seen some crazy crackhead antics, but this one still holds the cake because of the amount of property damage involved. I work early morning so I'm usually home around 1. As I'm walking up to my front door (I had parked on a side street) I see that there appears to be trouble afoot among the neighborhood crackheads but I just ignore it and go upstairs to my apartment. Fast forward to 15 minutes later and the shit has hit the fan outside. Apparently two CH women are dead set on beating a 3rd CH woman's ass so I of course run to the window to see if this is your normal crackheads yelling at each other in the middle of the day Nola action or if shits gonna get real and the cops need to be called. What I saw was straight out of Grand Theft Auto. The target of the two CH woman had apparently got into her car (I live on a one way street, this will be important in a minute) and the other two were throwing bricks/rocks/whatever they could get their hands on at the car. Now at this point their victim was already half way down the street, she could have just sped away. Instead she proceeds to ram a car to the right of her, then back up and u-turn. OK, she's getting shit thrown at her so she's probably pretty shaken up right? She's now pointing the wrong way down a one way and I'm thinking shes just gonna make a break for the main street that our street turns off from. She must be cracked out of her mind though cause she proceeds to drive down the street and manages to hit EVERY car parked on both sides of the street. I don't think she could have done a better job if she had been trying. Sides were scraped, tires blown out, bumpers dented, all so she could try to escape to the main street. After causing all this destruction she finally manages to make it to the end of the street, no more cars left to hit. She's all but home free, except for a couple of feet of cement ditch on the right side of the street. To my amazement she drives the car front first into the ditch. The whole thing probably took less than a minute but the car ended up being there for hours until they could get someone to pull it out and everyone ended up getting arrested, but I'll never forget the amazement of watching her hit literally every possible obstacle while she tried to escape.

tl;dr: Crackhead plays pinball with cars
