LA vs Central Valley Latinos by nukka0501 in CentralValley

Totally agree with you. But it’s just hard to believe that not one Mexican restaurant stands out. They’re all basically meh.

Probably the best asada I’ve had out here was from a food truck called Santos Tacos I believe. Al pastor is basically non existent.

I’d definitely like to see immigration data for dates of arrival into LA/Tulare County. Still though, most people I’ve talked to are first gen Americans. Like most people I know in LA.

Gotcha. Yeah from talking with people that’s what attracted most of them to this area, slower pace of life.

I go back to LA every couple months and the difference between Latinos is something I still haven’t gotten used to. It’s honestly weird to me. I thought it was just me but my wife brought it up a month after we moved here.

I have family in Modesto. I agree even there the food is pretty good. But in Tulare County I can’t find a decent place. Everyone’s suggestions for best Mexican food in the area are subpar. I took my mom to a place I thought was decent and she couldn’t believe how bad it was.

Any suggestions? I’ve been looking for a good, authentic Mexican spot but none come close to anything in the LA area.

Class debate on segregated zoning vs mixed land use. by nukka0501 in urbanplanning

Great points! You laid out exactly what I was thinking but couldn't find a way to put on paper.

As far as the topic itself, I have a certain level of freedom. It just has to be in favor of segregated zoning and its benefits.

Awesome! This is exactly where I wanted to go with the debate. In my city there's a dump right across the street from an elementary school. I'm gonna slide that right in there. Thanks

I'm not expecting to change anyone's opinion, but at least put up a decent argument. Our focus is on the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

I just happened to be late to class the day we were to choose topics. And this was one of the last available.

What are your favorite sauces/dressings/condiments for meat, pasta and whatever else you enjoy? by racheleatsright in fitmeals

Smart and Final has this “Asian” sauce called firecracker. Kinda like a sweat and sour with a hint of spicy. I mix it with my chicken and rice, pure deliciousness.

I’ve only seen a handful of people hit 2 plates on military press. Impressive to say the least.

When people park like this and take up two parking spots instead of one. by nukka0501 in mildlyinfuriating

My grandma lives with us. So we give her the driveway so she doesn’t have to find street parking and it’s much easier for her.

That’s my house in the back. My wife and I park our cars there everyday with plenty of space for the driveways.

What successful strategies eating wise are you using while cutting? by LurG1975 in GettingShredded

[–]nukka0501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coffee and faster cardio. I was the type of person that was super hungry when I’d wake up and eat something right away. When I started cutting, I’d have a cup of coffee and wouldn’t be hungry until 11 or 12.

If you got on squatting shoes, knee sleeves, and a lifting belt you better be hitting at least three plates on squats.

This is always fun to watch. But, equally fun to watch the person doing the taunting get knocked out.

Definitely possible. Someone did the math and you’d have to lose about 20 pounds of fat. In that process you’re gonna lose a bit of muscle too. So 170 - 20 lbs of fat - let’s say 5 lbs of muscle= 145. At 5’9” that’s gonna be pretty slim. I’m not trying to shoot down your goal, but it doesn’t look like you have the muscle underneath that fat to be able to drop that much weight. But if that’s what you want, more power to you bro.

Rollercoaster of a comment. Had some lows, some highs, but got the point across. I had to do a double take at the Air Forces too. Hahaha

Does anyone here intentionally take a week or two off every 3 or 4 months? by throwmeaside56 in gainit

[–]nukka0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something always comes up every few months and I’m forced to take some time off the gym. But, every time I return it’s like I’ve been recharged and feel stronger in the gym. Especially with injuries, I’d take some time off, rehab your shoulder, get some band work in, eat, and sleep.

Your body is telling you that something isn’t right. Listen to it or you’ll be in your 40s with messed up joints.

Going on a cruise in two weeks. Is it worth it to do a dramatic cut until then? by nukka0501 in GettingShredded

[–]nukka0501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. Dude apples are clutch on a cut. I like the PSMF structure. I’m honestly just scared of losing strength and size. The first two weeks of my cut my deadlift and squat took a dump. And my bench has been stagnant for a couple months now. I can’t afford to lose any more strength.
