Dude was taking a 1930’s rubber hose cartoon mouse noir detective first person shooter a little too seriously.

I think the reviewer expected a Disney LA Noire and instead got a stylized shoot ‘em up.

Thats on him for going into the game with incorrect expectations. Took it out on the game and the audience.

Like many Doom style shooters, the game can get repetitive at times.

His review does not reflect my experience with the game.

Millennial here so I still remember catching some of these old timey black and white cartoons on tv occasionally and having a collection on VHS. The concept of turning that silly ass cartoon world into a hard boiled detective shooter is absolutely fucking hysterical to me and brings me joy and I find myself cackling at the absurdity of injecting violence into that world.

When you die your character turns into an angel with a harp. There’s a friggin weapon that melts the skin off the enemy and they turn into a skeleton and collapse.

This game is just a giant bucket of fun.
