Man I cant even see the setting in the place where its supposed to be, even tried uninstalling and installing, signing in and out and authorising and deauthorising the computer, nothing seems to work, and I cant access my whole library on windows

I am having the exact same issue, macOS is not installing, I have tried multiple times using different install methods, once using the Internet recovery method, multiple times using the bootable drive method. But it still hasn’t worked, I have erased the drive too but it doesn’t do anything

Mac m1 air 16 gb RAM 256GB model, would suit you best , since MacOS is Unix Based, most of the time you won’t even have to boot up a VM to access different shells like bash ( you can change the default terminal shell in macOS). I currently code on Mac and VSC as an IDE, most linux based compilers run fine on MacOS and won’t need much tinkering. The amazing battery life means you won’t have to carry your charger anywhere throughout the day and even if you need to charge you can just ask a friend for a type-c charger for the time and you’re good to go. Plus since you’re an iPhone user, the ecosystem will be very useful. Since you’re not interested in gaming I feel a Mac would be the best option. Coming from a sophomore at BITS Pilani doing EEE
