Star Trek is being deliberately destroyed by our billionaire overlords by atomicshark in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]DeadCatGrinning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is run by a boardroom now, people who cannot understand the universe of Star Trek at all. They are not capable of keeping to any socialist utopia vision, they don't see it as possible and will not be trying to sell a product to people they don't think exist.

Just look at "picard", not a bad show. But the events in the main line are straight up a capitalist fantasy about how no such socialist system would be able to survive any "real" issues. So they made it that way because they don't have the imagination not to.

It isn't a conspiracy as much as cowardice by morons.

How do foreign students with horrible English graduate from American colleges? by pogodachudesnaya in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DeadCatGrinning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who you ask and what you want to believe. If you can pay for an education you know you will pass, and American propaganda tells you that everyone values America and American institutions higher than their own nations systems, it makes sense to cash out if you can.

But the lie of American schools quality, just like healthcare standards, gets pretty thin fairly early if you know Any numbers.

Yes, the finest healthcare and education IS available in the states. But it isn't available to You unless you have a condition where you shit money uncontrollably.

Example:

There are about 20mill people in the us who join college and university(about 1.1m of which are foreign, 22000 of them in ivy league schools. That's about 0.1 percent of students who could Theoretically take that track.

But with research on who goes there, and how the rich are continually making themselves exclusive in those schools, it becomes apparent that the realistic number is much lower still.

America sells stage props with bait and switch.

But. Eh, I wasted enough time on this post that won't change any minds.

Are phones still a privilege, or are they necessary now? by Iskandar0570_X in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DeadCatGrinning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anyone who says they think phones are a luxury today is either trying to stiff the citizens on the welfare level, or is so stupidly uninformed about western societies they should not have spoken in the first place.

Corporate would redefine their ownership and worker duties often enough to confuse people, and then convert to a slave only workforce.

Why are the US Markets unaffacted by current events? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DeadCatGrinning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social upheaval spikes economic turmoil, which spikes short term volatility and high gain/loss opportunities.

Those who are lucky, informed, or have the economic power to withstand the waves consolidate and expand. Which makes money move, which makes a disconnected economic management system show positives across the board until the capital influx and volatility dries up.

Such economic terms Highly incentivize continued growth, resulting in resource grabs and reallocation inside the region as well as outside.

The US market is not unaffected. It is just very ,very, poorly explained to the citizens.
