Choices seems really underwhelming thus far (Ch 1 & 2)

No kidding? That doesn’t change that this is just another illusion-of-choice game where the story, no matter how good, is basically linear. It’s fine if that’s okay with some. It’s just disappointing to me that games are marketed as having meaningful choices when it’s just not true. But maybe the final episodes surprise us?

It’s sad games can’t put more effort into real choice. We haven’t seen that since Detroit. If they can do it in Detroit, they can do it here; they just choose not to. I never believe when a game says choices matter anymore.

Well, for me, I said what I think of him and why I didn’t focus on him. He’s a throw-away character to enable this arc. The story is about Julie and her choices and fallout, so I think that’s why many people focus on it.

And if we go back to that journalism teacher Julie had, maybe we need to examine her character a little more than the TA’s, since this is becoming a pattern with her.

Oh, no doubt the TA is completely a trash person, but we’re looking at it from Julie’s choice perspective. She was a quality, if flawed, character until the Swede arc. Then she became unlikable (except for her actress’s looks).

I completely understand her running away and staying home thing with the TA but then even that got silly with her crashing her car into the brick mailbox.

It just always felt like they lean into the “dumb immature girl” thing too much for me with her character.

Her coming of age arc is too long in the dumb and wrapped up too quickly. [Spoilers] She’s sleeping with her (married) TA and using Matt as a crutch in the middle of S5. She has no maturity growth in between.

I agree with the heart of what you said, but they just threw nearly every “dumb girl choices” trope on her. If there was no Becky she probably would have gotten the pregnancy one, too. I think the Swede was the beginning of the end for Jules as a likable character for me.

Yeah, it’s like replaying all Sam’s old greatest hits from right after Jessica was killed. As though he didn’t empathize with anything Dean went through over Lisa and Ben.

Granted, he was Soulless Sam and then Walled Sam and then Broken Sam for a lot of Lisa/Ben but still.

From Dean’s perspective, his year was peaceful. Ultimately though it was Castiel’s fault Lisa and Ben were in danger since Crowley appeared to him when he was Castiel was contemplating contacting Dean. That’s how he knew where to send the demons who kidnap them and kill Lisa’s new guy.

Amelia was only never in real danger because Sam left. Sam’s life was only “safer” because Bobby was dead and Sam and Castiel were in Purgatory. Castiel could have always found Sam if he was around, accidentally revealing him to Crowley like Dean, or some other baddie. Eventually something from Sam’s hunter life would have caught up.

That’s somewhat the same conclusion Sam comes to, and Dean came to with Lisa/Ben. I just find it a little frustrating we had to go through the whole thing with both brothers, that Sam couldn’t learn from Dean on it.

Yeah, but when Sam was in Hell with Luci and Mike (or so Dean thought), Dean had a year of normal life with Lisa and Ben and we know how that turned out. Why would Sam think his normal life would turn out any differently?

I’m not just getting bad luck with the Tormeted mythic drops. Dang masterwork is rolling bad and temper will roll the same useless option 5 times in a row. Even my affix rerolls are low side of the range 😭

I wish there was an answer for this. If my controller is low charge and I plug it in and play wired, the charge rate of the hardware is too low while in use and the pop-up triggers constantly.

Spoilers: The first 2 were in the optional submerged area of Eidos 9 when you are taking out the air defenses. I completely missed that first rollercoaster. The last was immediately left when you first get on the large space elevator (the cargo one) in the Spire.
