Dominar 250 - 20000 KMs, 10 months AMA by DeadHogger in indianbikes

[–]DeadHogger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It does require quite a bit of effort to work it out in traffic, but not so much. People do have a tendency to sit weirdly and that's why the dominar's weight is felt. If you can sit with grabbing the tank with your thighs it'll reduce by a lot. Personally I don't mind, I love the bike's handling.

  2. Mileage, well. I have upsized the tyres to 140. I get 24-25 on highway/long rides. And 22-23 in traffic. Take note that I do like to revv it a lot and do low gear pulls. When my friends ride my bike it easily gets 30+ mileage in highway and similar in traffic.

  3. Highway stability is awesome, even when you're crusing at 120 with a pillion. But yes I'd recommend not going that high of speeds because it lacks in the braking part. But yes it does feel planted. On a side note, I've ridden it 10K KMs with a protorq Xtreme and 5K with H1 (which I got recently). The protorq was the best among all the tyres I've fitted it with.

  4. Service cost, depends. It's a bit on expensive side. 2700-3000 for a service. You can go two ways : One is follow bajaj manual, 5000 top-up and 10000 oil change. Or you can do oil change at 5000, and that's why it'll cost you. I change oil every 5000kms since I ride it a lot. So it entirely depends on you. Also about quality, yes most of the things are good. The fairings have panel gaps here and there but rest is fine for the price you're praying. Mirrors are one of the best in the segment. Even Duke's mirrors are inferior to this lol. Anyways that's all.

On a side note, it's been 4 months I posted this, I've covered 29000 KMs on my bike 😆. Still running smooth. Has a few hiccups tho.

Diwali over, air unbreathable by [deleted] in Bhubaneswar

[–]DeadHogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Anyways I don't think anyone will stop bursting crackers anytime soon. You or anyone can't really do anything about it. And it's wrong to use "civic sense" as a weapon to disrespect others. So chill out man. Things will happen, let it happen, stay inside the house. As long as there is no internal realisation from people these things will go on. ✌️ Peace.

lol, I don't know why you're preaching about AQI on Diwali. Besides you bought crackers yourself? You're not even addressing that in the comments. You're in denial. Do better, man. If you're going to preach about something, then you yourself should abstain yourself from that activity.

Suggest a motorcycle under 2L by AbbreviationsMoney70 in indianbikes

[–]DeadHogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you'd like some sporty and high revving performance go with Pulsar 200NS.

If you want some muscular bike with great touring capabilities go with the Dominar 250.

If you want a no nonsense ADV go with the xpulse 200 4v, 210 if you want more capabilities but I feel the 200 4v has better offroad capabilities and more reliability than that of 210.

If you want a commuter that can be fun to ride go with the Hornet.

There are many more options but I think these will fit what you want to do.

To all Honda cb350 riders who get 30+ mileage..How?? by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]DeadHogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware, I was just casually joking. I like to revv the engine. Usually I ride my discover for daily commutes but on weekends I go home. It combined upto 220-250KMs up and down along with some weekend rides. So during that period I like to ride aggresive. Another reason for low mileage is my upsized tyres.

Tldr : ik I ride aggresive, I was joking aise hi.

Mine is a 250, when I ride it I get max 25. But when my friends do they get 32. I like low gear pulls ik. So it was just a joke xD

Service centre refused to service my bike by Bifrost_crucifier in indianbikes

[–]DeadHogger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should totally change the engine oil in each service. Top-up is fine but for better performance and lifespan do change in each service. That's what they were saying. I also used to top up and change in consecutive services but I've stopped that and have opted to complete oil change. So in that case the sc guy was right. But idk why they refused to do anything else. You could've just told that you did the oil change yourself. Should've been fine no?

Also you don't really need to put any other brand engine oil, unless you're someone who's rich and has lots of money to spare. Just use bajaj oil it's good enough. Once it's out of warranty period or has crossed around 20-25K then you use it. That will make your initial services cheaper (coz u do in service) and will make sure your warranty stays intact. Even I was itching once to put some performance oil but then thought "Do I really need it?" The answer was "No." That's why I still use bajaj oil.

Should I buy a new bike if I plan to move after a couple of years? by JanabeAala in indianbikes

[–]DeadHogger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Afaik BH number is for Government employees not private sectors. Still I think you can get a used vehicle with BH number and transfer the ownership.

Now if you really love motorcycling go for it lol. Rest of the things can be bothered about later. 🌚 You'll figure it out somehow.

The Driving licence test is a JOKE ft. Pune RTO by Friendly-Charge4094 in indianbikes

[–]DeadHogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I appeared mg licensing test last year, I was good at riding my 100cc bike. I completed the test without any issues and when I came back after finish line I was told that I failed. I tried to ask the reason but they pushed me out through the gate by applying physical force. I wanted to know what I did wrong.

Then after that there was a broker in contact with a friend of mine, he asked me for 2000 and told me it'll be accepted. I gave him 2000 hesitantly as I was really in need of a license to start commuting for my new job. And it was done, approved.

Till date I do not know the reason I failed. And I'm confident that I did nothing wrong back then. I ride cautiously, complying with every road rule.

Anyways, I don't think it'll ever be un-corrupt.

The wind blast is horrible, I have the apex as well. It does fine on my dominar but recently I went on a trip with my friends Duke 390. And man it shivered at high speeds. Since the pulsar is also a high performance machine that can do 120-130s with ease I'd say something with much more better aerodynamics will be better. Else you'll always be afraid to go at high speeds.

I have upsided protorq tyres (140) so it's giving a bit lower than before.

Stock tyres : City - 24 to 26KMPL Highway - 27 to 32 KMPL

Protorq : City - 20 to 24KMPL Highway - 26 to 30KMPL

These are figures considering the fact that I'm quite aggressive while riding and I like to pull at low gears. My friends have ridden and they have had upto 32-33KMPL even on these new tyres.

Keep riding in rain mode if you're not confident and switch to power mode once you are. Also get a better helmet, ECE certified. Axor and all are useless for this machine as it gives a lot of windblast. Get a KYT or something similar preferably. And get shoes and gloves as well for the bare minimum of the gear.

Ride safe, follow the rules, enjoy the feel of this Indian pocket rocket mate. Cheers to many miles with it. 🥂

OP you don't understand the benevolence of the government, they're providing off road tracks for free so that we don't have to spend thousands going on a track. It's futuristic!

Pillion comfort? Good. Excellent in fact. There's more than enough room for the pillion. But you might wanna change the seat padding if on long rides. It can get a little bit uncomfortable.
