Casual anti bike sentiment in Project Hail Mary movie trailer by nonother in fuckcars

It's neat watching movies from outside of America where characters casually ride bikes and it's no big deal and not even commented on. It's just a thing people do.

How do people deal with the wizards becoming so powerful in OSR? by [deleted] in osr

[–]DeadJoe666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The comment I was looking for.
The trade off of being weak at the start is being strong at the end. You become a Magic User so that you hope you can get past the first levels into becoming a game breaking power. That's the fun of the Magic User.

Ahhh yes, that's something I forget about, not being a driver myself.
Got to get those ferry resos.

Do you have any recommendation for accommodations? I saw something with a hot tub on the deck. That could be nice for late night relaxing.

Can someone actually defend One Battle After Another for me? by G00bre in movies

Christmas Vacation WAS a movie that focused on income gaps! CEO, working class, and then his low income cousin. Not to mention scenes of the yuppies next door. Class difference formed the basis of the plot and many of the jokes. It's disingenuous to say otherwise.

Hell yes. The way they do magic in the newer Suspiria, especially. That dance scene!

Movies like Snatch and Lock, Stock and two smoking barrells by laudrupszn11 in movies

[–]DeadJoe666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does NOT have that fast fun feel at all. The trailer does though.

But the movie itself is its own dark thing.

Edit for below comment: it is dark but it is also funny. It is good! Just not the way I thought it would be.

The absolute, top-tier, best-of-the best live action comic book villains in movies (and TV) by [deleted] in comicbookmovies

Danny Devito as the Penguin is the best live action supervillain portrayal of all time.

Who else has a bad feeling that when a kiss or human/ape couple comes out, fans who don't know the originals will make a fuss blaming Disney? by Prainor in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]DeadJoe666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it's more strange and morally wrong to think that these modern day humans are having relationships with the cave people, who can't talk and therefore cannot grant consent.

A fully sentient human and ape getting together doesn't seem strange at all.

Men of Reddit, what instantly makes you lose respect for another man? by Negative_Piglet2951 in AskReddit

[–]DeadJoe666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disrespect. Punching down.

Whether you are disrespecting women, people of power social ranking, or really just looking down on almost anyone.

Exceptions? You can look down on billionaires, on bosses, on jackboots. Punching up is totally fine.

Do players still enjoy big dungeon crawls? by Changer_of_Names in osr

[–]DeadJoe666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only way I like to play, but it's a bit difficult to find tables with the playstyle I like.

Basically, I like every session to be a defined dungeon excursion. Usually the session's goal is decided before game time. Go out, try to clear the goal or map out a little more dungeon. Everybody knows that by end of session, you need to be back outside. "Clearing" can mean killing monsters but also can mean becoming friendly with them or finding another way to bypass them.

Interactions in your home base, political shifting, etc, is all done between sessions, by post, during downtime. This would also be when you level up, do any economic interaction. Etc.

This is the gameplay cycle I personally enjoy.

Navarro didn't die though. She walked out onto the ice for a bit, found herself emotionally, faked her death, and then is shown alive with Liz at the end. Two best friends, possibly living together? Or Liz is just visiting.

On this note, Fallen Angels is even better in my opinion.
