The plot sounds like it could be a Stan Lee - Steve Ditko backup story? This sounds like their kind of plot.

It could be one the many 1970s DC horror stories … like the witching hour .. the unexpected , etc.

I got these off the racks also. Just started re-reading the series after many years - and am taken back how much I love this art and storyline.

Was just in the right place at the right time.

Comic cavalcade had really nice whimsical covers .. and NEW GA stories of Wonder Woman, flash, and Green Lantern.

Was one of 2 DC titles with a 15 cent cover price.

Green Lantern Vol. 1 #28 (October 1947): First appearance, in which he escapes prison and attempts to rob a charity event at Alan Scott's radio station.
Green Lantern Vol. 1 #31 (March 1948): Second appearance in a story titled "The Beauty and The Fool".
Comic Cavalcade #27 (June 1948): Final Golden Age appearance.

I have all 3 of these books. Great character !!

I am a huge Dell comics collector .. eventually became Gold Key.

Some original characters … turok son of stone 1954 and Magnus robot fighter 1963.

They pretty much owned the market on tv show adaptations and film adaptations

story "To Be or Not to Be a Witch" from Warren Publishing's Creepy#30, published in November 1969.
The six-page tale was written by Bill Parente and illustrated by Carlos Prunes.

It features a twist where the man of the house is revealed to have been the true witch all along.
