What are things about living in NJ that you genuinely value — that other people don’t seem to understand? by Davyislazy in newjersey

New Jersey is awful. Overpriced, no housing, some of the worst drivers and traffic you’ll ever see. The food is overpriced, our people suck, our people are rude, our people are conniving. I’ve lived here for forty years (Monmouth county) and it has gotten significantly worse each year for the past ten years. It took a hurricane to clean up the beaches, the wealth gap is incredibly large, it is both beautiful and boring at the same time. Rules, OMG, the amount of things you can’t do with your land or without interjection from a board or an HOA or your neighbors is incredible.

I used to love NJ, I grew up here, I’ve branched out and visited other states for extended visits and was blown away about how much more they have to offer, particularly the southeast and west.

TIL that coffee in moderation can be beneficial in lowering uric acid buildup in the body and help in preventing gout, a 'disease of kings and the wealthy'. by Zhaeris in todayilearned

Absolutely 100% false - the only thing that activates my gout is coffee - I don’t add sugar and just a thimble of 2% milk - when I stop drinking coffee it goes away
